Come witness an inventive take on the history of Kashmir, from mythology to contemporary reality, touching narratives and counter-narratives that continue to colour our perspectives about the valley and its people.

This play was a part of THESPO- India's Biggest Youth Theatre Festival and The Roots India Short Play Festival 2020 and performed at Prithvi Theatre and at LTG Auditorium, Mandi House, Delhi.

Till now it has been performed 10times in different cities like Udaipur, Jaipur, Delhi and Mumbai.

Since December, people across India have mobilized to protest against the government after it passed a law that many see as discriminatory against Muslims, tribals, scheduled caste and scheduled tribes, lower and weaker income community, orphanages, old age homes, and the LGBTQ community. People, especially women have been on the front lines of these protests.

As an independent photojournalist, I have attended the organized as well as the flash protests in Hyderabad to capture the people's determination, energy, resistance against the system, against the discrimination, and most importantly, the unity and harmony which the system wants to disrupt.

I would like to showcase this resistance, as the people reclaim their voice, their power, their opinions in a photo exhibition over a period of two days. From 1st February 2020 - 2nd February 2020.

Our HRD minister Ramesh Pokriyal recently said that students must keep to themselves and that they should not indulge in any political matters of the country. But history says else, be it freedom struggle for our country, struggle for seperate Telangana, etc students have always been the one lead revolutions then why do we still differ on this or have the times changed. A fairly faithful dramatization of an earlier literary work of the same name (The River, authored by Rumer Godden), the movie attests to a teenager's coming of age and first love, and how her heart is broken when the man she falls in love with is smitten with her best friend instead.

Jean Renoir was a French film director, screenwriter, actor, producer and author. As a film director and actor, he made more than forty films from the silent era to the end of the 1960s. His films La Grande Illusion (1937) and The Rules of the Game (1939) are often cited by critics as among the greatest films ever made. He was ranked by the BFI's Sight & Sound poll of critics in 2002 as the fourth greatest director of all time.

The film was produced by Kenneth McEldowney, and original music was by M. A. Partha Sarathy. The cast includes Esmond Knight, Nora Swinburne and Arthur Shields.

Badlav is an original hindi psychological play written and directed by Amaan Ahmad. Touching the core of Theatre of the Absurd, ‘Badlav’ is a one of a kind play that traverses through multiple questions concerning human consciousness in a twisted manner. Set in an indefinite timeline, the play questions the very nature of ‘change’. Gayathri, the protagonist, being a hypocrite herself, is determined to seek ‘Badlav’. A complex psychotic character who comes with an overflow of deranged emotions, Gayathri is perpetually restless. Kalpana is an absolute nihilist. She throws absurd remarks at everything under the sun. Meanwhile, Radha who appears naïve and utterly ignorant, unknowingly unfolds a series of poetic and philosophical aspects of the play. In some other unexplored dimension, we see two men immersed in a paradoxical, absurd and digressive conversation which takes unexpected twists and turns. Watch the play to see what happens with 'Badlav' and these dimensions.

Bheem is a Telugu Patriotic play written by Harsha Chakilam based on the life story of Komaram Bheem.

Komaram Bheem was a Telugu Indian tribal leader who fought against the Asaf Jahi Dynasty for the liberation of Hyderabad. Komaram Bheem openly fought against the ruling Nizam government in a guerrilla campaign. He defied courts, laws, and any other form of Nizam authority, living off the sustenance of the forest. He took up arms against Nizam Nawab's soldiers and fought Babi Jhari until his last breath.

He gave the slogan of "Jal, Jungle, Zameen" (Water, Forest, Land). It means that the people who live in forests should have rights on all the resources of the forest.

The Collective Resistances of Shaheenbaag.

Likened to historical political movements it isn't a wonder that the ShaheenBaag protest is drawing allegories of a soaring hawk - the Shaheen.
It has so far defied all definitions and categorization in religious and other binaries that the Indian political milieu and partisan media is adept in propagating.
Despite being led by women of muslim community it could not be fixated under the gender binary and has gone to inspire many ShaheenBaag's in every other States and even abroad. More than 50 days later it has not stopped intriguing and teasing it's critics and detractors who have contributed to tainting it in every imaginable way.
This one hour interactive talk by Dr Manisha Bangar will delve deeper to find whose movement is it anyways and which trajectory is it likely to assume in the near future.

Dastan-e-Tamanna-e-Sarfaroshi is based on the Kakori Revolution, also known as Kakori Episode that happened on August 9, 1925. This musical Dastan brings to life the political beliefs, courage and the struggle for freedom of the revolutionaries of that time. The Dastan primarily focuses on Ashfaqulla Khan and Ram Prasad Bismil. Although these revolutionaries came a generation before Bhagat Singh, and greatly inspired him, not much has been done to keep them alive in our history.
Ashfaq and Bismil, were not only the main thinkers behind the Kakori Episode, but also shared a deep friendship. In India’s National Movement, their friendship was a great example of Hindu-Muslim unity. Both of them were born in the same city and became close friends. Together, they fought the battle for freedom and sacrificed their lives for it.
They both dreamt of an India where every one was treated equally and no one was discriminated against on the basis of caste or religion. Passionately written and narrated by Himashu Bajpai and woven together with the poetry by Ashfaq and Bismil that has been beautifully set to music and sung by Vedanth Bharadwaj. Saurabh Joshi will be accompanying them on percussions.

Urban naxal, illegal immigrant, anti national, sickular etc are terms that have become our everyday, every house hold staple in recent times. People have openly refused food delivered by a Muslim. A chunk people have applauded Kapil Gujjar ( the one who fired two rounds in Shaheen Bhag) for his statement " Yaha sirf hinduon ki chalegi".
Rambhakt Gopal( the one who fired Shadab at Jamia) is to be felicitated by a right wing organisation.

On jan 5th 2020 JNU students were brutally beaten up ABVP goons and at the same time there people outside the campus gates sloganeering " desh ke gaddaron ko goli maro saalonko", they even stopped ambulances from reaching the victims.

These continous incidents of hate speech and voilent attempts to choke dissenting voices by brandishing them as enemies of the country or "others" only points to the fact how ginormously the segregation, discrimination has risen in multifolds in the short span of time.
While sikhs continous gestures of support, courage and solidarity to the minority communities is heartening and generates hapes, it should also make us question why there is such rise hate and how do we fight it?

Kashmir has been a conflict zone for more than 72 years, and the recent abrogation of Article 370 has plunged it into yet another crisis.

Come witness an inventive take on the history of Kashmir, from mythology to contemporary reality, touching narratives and counter-narratives that continue to colour our perspectives about the valley and its people.

This play was a part of THESPO- India's Biggest Youth Theatre Festival and The Roots India Short Play Festival 2020 and performed at Prithvi Theatre and at LTG Auditorium, Mandi House, Delhi.

Till now it has been performed 10times in different cities like Udaipur, Jaipur, Delhi and Mumbai.

Since December, people across India have mobilized to protest against the government after it passed a law that many see as discriminatory against Muslims, tribals, scheduled caste and scheduled tribes, lower and weaker income community, orphanages, old age homes, and the LGBTQ community. People, especially women have been on the front lines of these protests.

As an independent photojournalist, I have attended the organized as well as the flash protests in Hyderabad to capture the people's determination, energy, resistance against the system, against the discrimination, and most importantly, the unity and harmony which the system wants to disrupt.

I would like to showcase this resistance, as the people reclaim their voice, their power, their opinions in a photo exhibition over a period of two days. From 1st February 2020 - 2nd February 2020.

Our HRD minister Ramesh Pokriyal recently said that students must keep to themselves and that they should not indulge in any political matters of the country. But history says else, be it freedom struggle for our country, struggle for seperate Telangana, etc students have always been the one lead revolutions then why do we still differ on this or have the times changed. Badlav is an original hindi psychological play written and directed by Amaan Ahmad. Touching the core of Theatre of the Absurd, ‘Badlav’ is a one of a kind play that traverses through multiple questions concerning human consciousness in a twisted manner. Set in an indefinite timeline, the play questions the very nature of ‘change’. Gayathri, the protagonist, being a hypocrite herself, is determined to seek ‘Badlav’. A complex psychotic character who comes with an overflow of deranged emotions, Gayathri is perpetually restless. Kalpana is an absolute nihilist. She throws absurd remarks at everything under the sun. Meanwhile, Radha who appears naïve and utterly ignorant, unknowingly unfolds a series of poetic and philosophical aspects of the play. In some other unexplored dimension, we see two men immersed in a paradoxical, absurd and digressive conversation which takes unexpected twists and turns. Watch the play to see what happens with 'Badlav' and these dimensions.

Bheem is a Telugu Patriotic play written by Harsha Chakilam based on the life story of Komaram Bheem.

Komaram Bheem was a Telugu Indian tribal leader who fought against the Asaf Jahi Dynasty for the liberation of Hyderabad. Komaram Bheem openly fought against the ruling Nizam government in a guerrilla campaign. He defied courts, laws, and any other form of Nizam authority, living off the sustenance of the forest. He took up arms against Nizam Nawab's soldiers and fought Babi Jhari until his last breath.

He gave the slogan of "Jal, Jungle, Zameen" (Water, Forest, Land). It means that the people who live in forests should have rights on all the resources of the forest.

The Collective Resistances of Shaheenbaag.

Likened to historical political movements it isn't a wonder that the ShaheenBaag protest is drawing allegories of a soaring hawk - the Shaheen.
It has so far defied all definitions and categorization in religious and other binaries that the Indian political milieu and partisan media is adept in propagating.
Despite being led by women of muslim community it could not be fixated under the gender binary and has gone to inspire many ShaheenBaag's in every other States and even abroad. More than 50 days later it has not stopped intriguing and teasing it's critics and detractors who have contributed to tainting it in every imaginable way.
This one hour interactive talk by Dr Manisha Bangar will delve deeper to find whose movement is it anyways and which trajectory is it likely to assume in the near future.

Dastan-e-Tamanna-e-Sarfaroshi is based on the Kakori Revolution, also known as Kakori Episode that happened on August 9, 1925. This musical Dastan brings to life the political beliefs, courage and the struggle for freedom of the revolutionaries of that time. The Dastan primarily focuses on Ashfaqulla Khan and Ram Prasad Bismil. Although these revolutionaries came a generation before Bhagat Singh, and greatly inspired him, not much has been done to keep them alive in our history.
Ashfaq and Bismil, were not only the main thinkers behind the Kakori Episode, but also shared a deep friendship. In India’s National Movement, their friendship was a great example of Hindu-Muslim unity. Both of them were born in the same city and became close friends. Together, they fought the battle for freedom and sacrificed their lives for it.
They both dreamt of an India where every one was treated equally and no one was discriminated against on the basis of caste or religion. Passionately written and narrated by Himashu Bajpai and woven together with the poetry by Ashfaq and Bismil that has been beautifully set to music and sung by Vedanth Bharadwaj. Saurabh Joshi will be accompanying them on percussions.

Urban naxal, illegal immigrant, anti national, sickular etc are terms that have become our everyday, every house hold staple in recent times. People have openly refused food delivered by a Muslim. A chunk people have applauded Kapil Gujjar ( the one who fired two rounds in Shaheen Bhag) for his statement " Yaha sirf hinduon ki chalegi".
Rambhakt Gopal( the one who fired Shadab at Jamia) is to be felicitated by a right wing organisation.

On jan 5th 2020 JNU students were brutally beaten up ABVP goons and at the same time there people outside the campus gates sloganeering " desh ke gaddaron ko goli maro saalonko", they even stopped ambulances from reaching the victims.

These continous incidents of hate speech and voilent attempts to choke dissenting voices by brandishing them as enemies of the country or "others" only points to the fact how ginormously the segregation, discrimination has risen in multifolds in the short span of time.
While sikhs continous gestures of support, courage and solidarity to the minority communities is heartening and generates hapes, it should also make us question why there is such rise hate and how do we fight it?

శాస్త్రీయ సంగీతానికి , నాట్య కళా సంస్ర్కృతికి తన సినిమాల్లో సమోన్నత స్థానమిచ్చి.. తెలుగు సాంప్రదాయానికి పట్టాభిషేకం చేసిన అద్వితీయ దర్శకుడు కళా తపస్వి శ్రీ కె.విశ్వనాథ్ గారు. ఈ నెల 19న ఆయన జన్మదినం సందర్భంగా లమాకాన్ వేదిక గా ఆయన సినిమాల్లోని సాహితీ విలువలు కలిగిన పలు గీతాల్ని ప్రదర్శిస్తున్నాం. అనంతరం ఆ పాటల గొప్పతనాన్ని, అందులోని సాహిత్యాన్ని ప్రస్తావిస్తూ చర్చా కార్యక్రమం ఉంటుంది. ఈ సందర్భంగా విశ్వనాథ్ గారి అభిమానులను, సినీ ప్రియుల్ని ఈ కార్యక్రమానికి సవినయంగా ఆహ్వానిస్తున్నాం .

Bazm e Sukhan is a weekly gathering of those interested in Urdu literature. A bunch of 20 odd people meet every Wednesday at 5 pm at Lamakaan and discuss Urdu poetry and prose. Each session usually focuses on one poet, or writer or a particular aspect of the form, structure or grammar of Urdu writing
