Altman's style of filmmaking covered many genres, but usually with a "subversive" or "anti-Hollywood" twist which typically relied on satire and humor to express his personal views. Actors especially enjoyed working under his direction because he encouraged them to improvise. He preferred large ensemble casts for his films, and developed a multitrack recording technique which produced overlapping dialogue from multiple actors. This produced a more natural, more dynamic, and more complex experience for the viewer. He also used highly mobile camera work and zoom lenses to enhance the activity taking place on the screen. Critic Pauline Kael, writing about his directing style, said that Altman could "make film fireworks out of next to nothing.

Srinivas Kodali takes us through how modern-day digital governance treats humans as numbers with the mathematical science of cybernetics, which is used to reshape the republic.
The Census has been a project of control for colonial actors in India, these colonial practices were modified to help achieve India's development goals under PC Mahalnobis. Mahalnobis, as the architect of the modern census in India, evolved practices that have been exported from India to the rest of the world. Present-day census applications in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh have been heavily relying on cybernetics to create 360-degree profiles of citizens. This form of real-time cybernetic census will be the future in Digital India. The talk will look into the discontents of numbers and how modern-day digital governance treats humans as numbers with the mathematical science of cybernetics, which is being used to reshape the republic. It will touch on Digital Governance, Representation, Surveillance, Control, and Freedoms in Digital Societies.

2024 began with farmers all over Europe demonstratively raising their voices in protest, while farmers in India re-launch a protest march to Delhi alongside other demonstrations, with MSP at the forefront of their demands.
Against the backdrop of the global rise in farmers’ movement comes the documentary “Déjà vu”. The documentary began in 2021. Barely two months since the launch of the farm laws in India to promote market reforms. In the middle of Covid and a frigid American winter, four Indians were on a ten-thousand-kilometer drive through the farming heartland of America. Because, as it turns out that four decades ago, similar market reforms were ushered in in America. A more classic case of “back to the future” perhaps could not be found.
How did the reforms turn out? Who benefitted? Who lost out? Is it the farmers, the consumers, or the corporates? What impact did loss of MSP or ushering in of contract farming have on farmers?
Through personal experiences and human stories of small farmers in America, Deja Vu is chronicle of a four decade long history of a much-trumpeted elixir – and a cautionary tale for India.
Déjà Vu is the confluence where past meets the future.
