Students of The English and Foreign Languages University (EFLU) are organizing a public forum on National Policy for Farmers as a part of the course titled Public Policy Education for Ph.D Education course work, Public Policy Education is primarily designed to instill values of academic activism, public concerns and critical thinking among doctoral students, to get exposed to real world issues, various policy debates and policy perspectives. Under this framework, we are trying to understand the structure, nature and formulation process of the policy in public spheres.

The forum will be on the domain of agriculture, primarily focusing on farmers. The forum will try to discuss the following.

• How we can strengthen our farmers and define his identities holistically, not merely as a farmer but farmer as an entrepreneur.
• Examining the issues of existing price and marketing and the legal framework to improve the income and welfare of farmers.
• Assess the impact of international trade on the livelihood sustainability and the viability of small agricultural holdings.
• Enhancing the productivity, profitability and stability of the major farming systems.
• Explore the involvement of technology in farming, GM Crops and its consequences.
• Crop diseases, attacks of pathogens, quality issues of seeds and fertilizers. Scales of finance and credit related issues.
• Transportation systems, issues of storage and processing facilities.
• Climate change impact on agriculture and natural disasters like flood, drought impact on farming.
• Why farmers are moving from village to towns.
• Identifying the factors responsible for imbalances and disparities to achieve equitable agricultural growth and development.

Nine-Eleven is such an incident, which shook the entire world. It had global implications in almost all spheres of our life. All the imperialist agendas were implemented as per schedule, in the form of destruction of Afghanistan, Iraq and Libya. Now, Syria and Iran are struggling to counter the offense. Therefore, it raises a big question that the incidents of nine-eleven were sabotage by any of the organizations or it was an inside job, used as a false flag. During this twelve years’ period lot of evidence has come to the surface and it is now beyond doubt that these were conceived, planned, executed by the government by using the latest technology to meet the pre-decided agendas.
All the investigations were merely eyewash. The nine-eleven commission report was purely a whitewash of the entire episode. After that the doubts among the public at large and families of the victims became stronger and there was demand of re-investigation of the incident of that fateful day. Hence an objective view about the same is need of the hour for a better understanding of this issue and similar contemporary incidents.
Therefore, a meeting is being organised on behalf of the Punjab Human Rights Organisation on the issue of nine-eleven

Kovelamudi Surya Prakash Rao (1914–1996) was a noted director, producer, actor and Cinematographer of Indian films. He was recipient of Raghupathi Venkaiah Award. He is the father of director K. Raghavendra Rao.

He started film production in 1948 with Drohi, wherein he also played the main character role under the directorship of L. V. Prasad. He named his production house as Prakash Productions and produced and directed some films like Modati Ratri and Deeksha; later on developed it as Prakash Studios.

The Torn Curtains presents "The Storm Within....Stories of Abuse". An adaptation of "Meri Kahani" by Umbereen Inayet and Mehreen Poonja. This is a serious play dealing with issues of gender and domestic violence.

Synopsis:
ANNIE: Annie's story is written about a lesbian woman from Goa who struggled with her identity, and with her love for a woman.

MAAJI AUR BETI: In-law abuse is a form of domestic violence that is not often talked about. Jaswinder’s story explores the theme of In-law abuse in the form of letters written between a mother and daughter.

PHOOL: Phool is the story of a transsexual person, and his experiences with sexual identity, love and abuse.

MADHULEKHA: Madhulekha’s Story is about a high powered business woman, originally from Mumbai, now living in New York. She is seeing a therapist. This is her first session.

FATIMA: According to Statistics Canada, one quarter of all women have experienced violence at the hands of their current or past marital partner. Fatima’s story is about a Muslim woman’s experiences with abuse, and how she found help to get out of her abusive situation.

Running though the play, is the story of SHANTI, an immigrant women who speaks little or no English. The only person she trusts or knows in this new land is Miss Julia, her teacher at the LINC Class.

The Ph.D Scholars from the Department of Education, EFL Universiity, Hyderabad are organizing a Public Forum on POLICY FOR DISABLED. This policy will deal with the issues related to the education, health and rehabilitation of the people with different disabilities. A brief presentation would be followed by the discussion and comments from the experts and concerned stakeholder and lastly the question-answer session.All the persons who are interested to participate in this forum are highly welcome.This forum is open to all without any entry fee.

The National Health Policy-2002 aims at reviving and emerging the ailing health system and increasing the primary health sector outlay to ensure a more equitable access to health services across the social and geographical expanse of the country.
However, the main objective of the policy is to achieve an acceptable standard of good health among the general population by the country. The approach of the policy is to increase access to the decentralized public health system by establishing new infrastructure in deficient areas and by upgrading the infrastructure in the existing institutions.

Students of EFLU are conducting this public debate as a part of their study crse.

Final Solution is a study of the politics of hate. Set in Gujarat during the period Feb/March 2002 - July 2003, the film graphically documents the changing face of right-wing politics in India through a study of the 2002 genocide of Muslims in Gujarat. It specifically examines political tendencies reminiscent of the Nazi
Germany of early/mid-1930s. Final Solution is anti-hate/ violence as “those who forget history are condemned to relive it”.

Part 1: Pride and Genocide deals with the carnage and its immediate aftermath. It examines the patterns of pre-planned genocidal violence (by right-wing Hindutva cadres), which many claim was state-supported, if not state-sponsored. The film reconstructs through eyewitness accounts the attack on Gulbarg and Patiya (Ahmedabad) and acts of barbaric violence against Moslem women at Eral and Delol/Kalol (Panchmahals) even as Chief Minister Modi traverses the state on his Gaurav Yatra.

Part 2 : The Hate Mandate documents the poll campaign during the Assembly elections in Gujarat in late 2002. It records in detail the exploitation of the Godhra incident by the right-wing propaganda machinery for electoral gains. The film studies and documents the situation months after the elections to find shocking faultlines – voluntary ghettoisation, segregation in schools, formal calls for economic boycott of Muslims and continuing acts of violence.

Final Solution was banned in India by the censor board for several months. The ban was recently lifted after a sustained campaign (an online petition, hundreds of protest screenings countrywide, multi-city signature campaigns and dozens of letters to the Government sent by audiences directly). Final Solution was rejected
by the government-run Mumbai International film festival and was screened at Vikalp : Films for
Freedom (http://www.freedomfilmsindia.org), organised by the Campaign Against Censorship. Rakesh Sharma has been an active member of the Campaign since its inception.

Sharing Music – Creating Harmony

What is Community Music? How can we use music as a tool to connect people together and create the sense of a community?
Communities around the world have made used the simple act of singing together to boost their morale, bring each other together, and gain energy.
HWMF started a Community singing project with bi-monthly sessions.
The motivation is simply to feel each others' energy and understand what it is like to sing with a room full of people. It is expected that participants have a basic interest in learning songs from all over the world in different languages and historical contexts! For this reason, we have set the minimum age to 12 years.
So if you are fond of singing just for the sheer joy of it, this is the place to be!

If you haven’t attended the last sessions, don’t worry – you can join any session fresh.
If you have – don’t worry either – we don’t repeat repertoire or warm-ups so it is going to be new every time!

American folklorist Pete Seeger passed away on 27th January. He worked with folk repertoire from the entire world and you will recognize his work easily through the song “We shall overcome” (Hum honge qamayaab), which he helped popularize.
This week we will sing repertoire from Chile, Liberia and Norway – which was in a record titled Folk Songs of Four Continents, by Pete Seeger and the Song Swappers.

He won the Jnanpith Award in 1988 and is considered to be an authority on Telugu literature. He is popularly known as Cinare. He entered film industry in 1962, by writing all the songs for the Gulebakavali Katha. He became famous with the song Nannu dochu unduvate... vannela dorasani. He became known to a wide public as a lyricist for several famous Telugu films. He has written more than 3000 songs and contributed to the success of many films. Beyond the Veil directed by Anusha Nandakumar is the story of two strong women. One Sughra Fatima, a teenager who comes from a large Muslim family who fought with her family to take up boxing as a sport and excelled at it. The other her mother: Rukshana Begum who got married, had children and was satisfied with her life till her husband's illness proved to be a setback. In order to support her family, she took to singing popular Hindi songs in bars and marriages secretly.

Event 2: 'Voices from History'

Voices from History is a bi-lingual reading (English and Telugu). This is a first-person performance of the lives, experiences and the challenges faced by 6 women from history. The women include: Durgabai, Rajyalakshmi, Acchamamba and Ailamma.

“Hatt Teri kismet” (Ohh! Bad Luck) is a political satire originally written in Marathi by renowned playwright Vijay Tendulkar. It is a political satire and a story of power. What if “you have power in hand”? This story has two characters one corrupted chief minister and one common man. Two meet incidentally and start discussing their persona. Story takes U-turn when corrupted chief minister found a mob of angry people approaching him to kill him and scared chief minister decided to swap cloths with common man to save himself from the mob. Unfortunately (bad luck), while swapping cloths their faces also get changed and story with full of surprises continues hereafter.

Kasinathuni Viswanath started as a sound designer turned director and actor known for his works, predominantly in Telugu Cinema. He is a multiple winner of National Film Award and Nandi Award.
Viswanath has directed blockbuster Bollywood films like Sargam, Kaamchor, Sanjog, Sur Sangam, Shubh Kaamna, Jag Utha Insaan, Eeshwar, Sangeet and Dhanwaan. Viswanath has won ten Filmfare Awards South, and one Bollywood Filmfare Award. Two of his films Shankarabharanam (1979), and Sagara Sangamam (1983) were show cased among CNN-IBN's list of hundred finest Indian films of all time. Viswanath has directed films like Swati Mutyam which was India's official entry to the Oscars for 1986. Swati Mutyam, Sirivennela, and Sagara Sangamam got critical acclaim at Asia Pacific Film Festival while Sankarabharanam, Swayam Krushi, Siri Siri Muvva and Swati Mutyam were showcased at the Moscow Film Festival. Sankarabharanam, has won the Prize of the Public at the Besançon Film Festival of France in the year 1981.

The world we live in is a very strange place. Some eat to live and some live to eat. In one way or another our lives revolve around food: some cook; some eat; some store it ; some hoard it; some starve for it; some steal it..Our very survival depends on food.

That is what the two main characters of this play are trying to do; survive another day in their lives. Salim & Javed are two beggars; like any other; they meet on a street like any other; on a day like any other. But what results is hilarity like never before.

The two share their stories; their ‘areas’; and their modus operandi. As they go from street to street and house to house pleading to people’s sense of charity, they chance upon the home of Ismail Bhai & his wife Pasha Bi. Ismail Bhai is a well known cook who has been invited by a Nawaab to display his culinary skills. Eager to impress the nawaab, he prepares a special Biryani and instructs his wife to hand it over to the delivery boy he sends.

The plan is overheard by the two hungry friends, who decide to change the route of the Biryani to their hungry stomachs instead of the Nawaab’s.

HWMF started a Community singing project with bi-monthly sessions.These sessions are all about using music as a tool to connect people together and create the sense of a community.
Communities around the world have made used the simple act of singing together to boost their morale, bring each other together, and gain energy.
HWMF is doing a Community singing project with bi-monthly sessions.
The motivation is simply to feel each others' energy and understand what it is like to sing with a room full of people. It is expected that participants have a basic interest in learning songs from all over the world in different languages and historical contexts! For this reason, we have set the minimum age to 12 years.
So if you are fond of singing just for the sheer joy of it, this is the place to be!

If you haven’t attended the last sessions, don’t worry – you can join any session fresh.
If you have – don’t worry either – we don’t repeat repertoire or warm-ups so it is going to be new every time!

Lullabies are probably the one song type that is sung everywhere in the world – the common denominator of music itself. All of us have been sung to sleep. In this session, we will explore lullabies sung around the world, which are written in very different styles – some major, some minor, and some exotic scales. An example lullaby we would be doing is: “Fi la nana, e mi bel fiol” from Italy!

Tejaswinee Kelkar, our course director, is doing her MS at IIIT Hyderabad. She has studied an Associate Diploma in Western Classical theory and composition as well as Sangeet Visharad in Hindustani Classical music and is locally part of the choir group the Deccan Voices.

Franz Kafka. The images the name brings. A tragic life. A tragic death. Heavy stories that brought about both despair and catharsis. Yet when he first read his epic novella Metamorphosis to his friends, he read it as if it were a comedy. The listeners laughed and clapped at the troubles of Gregor Samsa who woke up one fine morning to discover he had, somehow, metamorphosed into a bug. Gregor Samsa, the salesman turned into a bug must now face the reality of his new form and his family of parents and sister must now deal with it.

Is it a tragedy or a comedy when his manager is scared away by the bug that was/is Gregor? Is it really funny that he now has a taste for spoiled food? Is it hilarious that his family now will not look at him?

Come watch the Comedy/tragedy as the family turns from scared to sympathetic to horror and apathy, as they react to this strange illness.

The adaptation of this novella, "Gregor Samsa" by Anjali Parvati Koda, is presented by Samahaara after her earlier critically acclaimed plays "Purushotham" and "Dominic Wesley".

A free adaptation by Vithal Rajan of the late Howard Zinn's play for single actor 'Marx in Soho.' Duration between 1 hour to 75 mins. Marx's soul comes to earth for an hour to talk about his life, family, capitalism, socialism, then and now. The play is intended to show the continued relevance of Marx's theories and the all too human side of his character.
The play was performed to appreciative audiences in the USA, mostly university audiences, by the African-American actor, Brian Jones. Dr Vithal Rajan of Hyderabad received permission from Prof. Howard Zinn to adapt and perform the play in India, but was not able to do so till now. He offers it as a humble contribution to celebrate DCH 50th anniversary celebrations.

Nine-Eleven is such an incident, which shook the entire world. It had global implications in almost all spheres of our life. All the imperialist agendas were implemented as per schedule, in the form of destruction of Afghanistan, Iraq and Libya. Now, Syria and Iran are struggling to counter the offense. Therefore, it raises a big question that the incidents of nine-eleven were sabotage by any of the organizations or it was an inside job, used as a false flag. During this twelve years’ period lot of evidence has come to the surface and it is now beyond doubt that these were conceived, planned, executed by the government by using the latest technology to meet the pre-decided agendas.
All the investigations were merely eyewash. The nine-eleven commission report was purely a whitewash of the entire episode. After that the doubts among the public at large and families of the victims became stronger and there was demand of re-investigation of the incident of that fateful day. Hence an objective view about the same is need of the hour for a better understanding of this issue and similar contemporary incidents.
Therefore, a meeting is being organised on behalf of the Punjab Human Rights Organisation on the issue of nine-eleven

Kovelamudi Surya Prakash Rao (1914–1996) was a noted director, producer, actor and Cinematographer of Indian films. He was recipient of Raghupathi Venkaiah Award. He is the father of director K. Raghavendra Rao.

He started film production in 1948 with Drohi, wherein he also played the main character role under the directorship of L. V. Prasad. He named his production house as Prakash Productions and produced and directed some films like Modati Ratri and Deeksha; later on developed it as Prakash Studios.

The Torn Curtains presents "The Storm Within....Stories of Abuse". An adaptation of "Meri Kahani" by Umbereen Inayet and Mehreen Poonja. This is a serious play dealing with issues of gender and domestic violence.

Synopsis:
ANNIE: Annie's story is written about a lesbian woman from Goa who struggled with her identity, and with her love for a woman.

MAAJI AUR BETI: In-law abuse is a form of domestic violence that is not often talked about. Jaswinder’s story explores the theme of In-law abuse in the form of letters written between a mother and daughter.

PHOOL: Phool is the story of a transsexual person, and his experiences with sexual identity, love and abuse.

MADHULEKHA: Madhulekha’s Story is about a high powered business woman, originally from Mumbai, now living in New York. She is seeing a therapist. This is her first session.

FATIMA: According to Statistics Canada, one quarter of all women have experienced violence at the hands of their current or past marital partner. Fatima’s story is about a Muslim woman’s experiences with abuse, and how she found help to get out of her abusive situation.

Running though the play, is the story of SHANTI, an immigrant women who speaks little or no English. The only person she trusts or knows in this new land is Miss Julia, her teacher at the LINC Class.

The Ph.D Scholars from the Department of Education, EFL Universiity, Hyderabad are organizing a Public Forum on POLICY FOR DISABLED. This policy will deal with the issues related to the education, health and rehabilitation of the people with different disabilities. The National Health Policy-2002 aims at reviving and emerging the ailing health system and increasing the primary health sector outlay to ensure a more equitable access to health services across the social and geographical expanse of the country.
However, the main objective of the policy is to achieve an acceptable standard of good health among the general population by the country. The approach of the policy is to increase access to the decentralized public health system by establishing new infrastructure in deficient areas and by upgrading the infrastructure in the existing institutions.

Final Solution is a study of the politics of hate. Set in Gujarat during the period Feb/March 2002 - July 2003, the film graphically documents the changing face of right-wing politics in India through a study of the 2002 genocide of Muslims in Gujarat. It specifically examines political tendencies reminiscent of the Nazi
Germany of early/mid-1930s. Final Solution is anti-hate/ violence as “those who forget history are condemned to relive it”.

Part 1: Pride and Genocide deals with the carnage and its immediate aftermath. It examines the patterns of pre-planned genocidal violence (by right-wing Hindutva cadres), which many claim was state-supported, if not state-sponsored. The film reconstructs through eyewitness accounts the attack on Gulbarg and Patiya (Ahmedabad) and acts of barbaric violence against Moslem women at Eral and Delol/Kalol (Panchmahals) even as Chief Minister Modi traverses the state on his Gaurav Yatra.

Part 2 : The Hate Mandate documents the poll campaign during the Assembly elections in Gujarat in late 2002. It records in detail the exploitation of the Godhra incident by the right-wing propaganda machinery for electoral gains. The film studies and documents the situation months after the elections to find shocking faultlines – voluntary ghettoisation, segregation in schools, formal calls for economic boycott of Muslims and continuing acts of violence.

Final Solution was banned in India by the censor board for several months. The ban was recently lifted after a sustained campaign (an online petition, hundreds of protest screenings countrywide, multi-city signature campaigns and dozens of letters to the Government sent by audiences directly). Final Solution was rejected
by the government-run Mumbai International film festival and was screened at Vikalp : Films for
Freedom (http://www.freedomfilmsindia.org), organised by the Campaign Against Censorship. Rakesh Sharma has been an active member of the Campaign since its inception.

Sharing Music – Creating Harmony

What is Community Music? How can we use music as a tool to connect people together and create the sense of a community?
Communities around the world have made used the simple act of singing together to boost their morale, bring each other together, and gain energy.
HWMF started a Community singing project with bi-monthly sessions.
The motivation is simply to feel each others' energy and understand what it is like to sing with a room full of people. It is expected that participants have a basic interest in learning songs from all over the world in different languages and historical contexts! For this reason, we have set the minimum age to 12 years.
So if you are fond of singing just for the sheer joy of it, this is the place to be!

If you haven’t attended the last sessions, don’t worry – you can join any session fresh.
If you have – don’t worry either – we don’t repeat repertoire or warm-ups so it is going to be new every time!

American folklorist Pete Seeger passed away on 27th January. He worked with folk repertoire from the entire world and you will recognize his work easily through the song “We shall overcome” (Hum honge qamayaab), which he helped popularize.
This week we will sing repertoire from Chile, Liberia and Norway – which was in a record titled Folk Songs of Four Continents, by Pete Seeger and the Song Swappers.

Celebrating 100 years of Indian Cinema by paying tributes to one of greatest writers and poets of Telugu - Cingireddy Narayana Reddy (CiNaRe). He won the Jnanpith Award in 1988 and is considered to be an authority on Telugu literature. He is popularly known as Cinare. He entered film industry in 1962, by writing all the songs for the Gulebakavali Katha. He became famous with the song Nannu dochu unduvate... vannela dorasani. He became known to a wide public as a lyricist for several famous Telugu films. He has written more than 3000 songs and contributed to the success of many films. His popular films are Chaduvukunna Ammayilu, Ramudu Bheemudu, Alluri Seetharama Raju, Sutradharulu. This film on CiNaRe is made by Saichand.

Event 1 - a Movie: 'Beyond the Veil': 52 mins

Beyond the Veil directed by Anusha Nandakumar is the story of two strong women. One Sughra Fatima, a teenager who comes from a large Muslim family who fought with her family to take up boxing as a sport and excelled at it. The other her mother: Rukshana Begum who got married, had children and was satisfied with her life till her husband's illness proved to be a setback. In order to support her family, she took to singing popular Hindi songs in bars and marriages secretly.

Event 2: 'Voices from History'

Voices from History is a bi-lingual reading (English and Telugu). This is a first-person performance of the lives, experiences and the challenges faced by 6 women from history. The women include: Durgabai, Rajyalakshmi, Acchamamba and Ailamma.

The reading will be followed by a discussion.

“Hatt Teri kismet” (Ohh! Bad Luck) is a political satire originally written in Marathi by renowned playwright Vijay Tendulkar. It is a political satire and a story of power. What if “you have power in hand”? This story has two characters one corrupted chief minister and one common man. Two meet incidentally and start discussing their persona. Story takes U-turn when corrupted chief minister found a mob of angry people approaching him to kill him and scared chief minister decided to swap cloths with common man to save himself from the mob. Unfortunately (bad luck), while swapping cloths their faces also get changed and story with full of surprises continues hereafter.

Lamakaan invites all for a tribute to 100 years of Cinema finale with the screening of legendary filmmaker K. Viswanath.

Kasinathuni Viswanath started as a sound designer turned director and actor known for his works, predominantly in Telugu Cinema. He is a multiple winner of National Film Award and Nandi Award.
Viswanath has directed blockbuster Bollywood films like Sargam, Kaamchor, Sanjog, Sur Sangam, Shubh Kaamna, Jag Utha Insaan, Eeshwar, Sangeet and Dhanwaan. Viswanath has won ten Filmfare Awards South, and one Bollywood Filmfare Award. Two of his films Shankarabharanam (1979), and Sagara Sangamam (1983) were show cased among CNN-IBN's list of hundred finest Indian films of all time. Viswanath has directed films like Swati Mutyam which was India's official entry to the Oscars for 1986. Swati Mutyam, Sirivennela, and Sagara Sangamam got critical acclaim at Asia Pacific Film Festival while Sankarabharanam, Swayam Krushi, Siri Siri Muvva and Swati Mutyam were showcased at the Moscow Film Festival. Sankarabharanam, has won the Prize of the Public at the Besançon Film Festival of France in the year 1981.

The world we live in is a very strange place. Some eat to live and some live to eat. In one way or another our lives revolve around food: some cook; some eat; some store it ; some hoard it; some starve for it; some steal it..Our very survival depends on food.

That is what the two main characters of this play are trying to do; survive another day in their lives. Salim & Javed are two beggars; like any other; they meet on a street like any other; on a day like any other. But what results is hilarity like never before.

The two share their stories; their ‘areas’; and their modus operandi. As they go from street to street and house to house pleading to people’s sense of charity, they chance upon the home of Ismail Bhai & his wife Pasha Bi. Ismail Bhai is a well known cook who has been invited by a Nawaab to display his culinary skills. Eager to impress the nawaab, he prepares a special Biryani and instructs his wife to hand it over to the delivery boy he sends.

The plan is overheard by the two hungry friends, who decide to change the route of the Biryani to their hungry stomachs instead of the Nawaab’s.

The workshop covers basics of the craft and technique of acting, and is specially designed for beginners. The workshop will include 30+ hours of instruction over five weekends(every saturday and sunday), and will culminates in an informal show by the participants. After the workshop and the show, the participants could join the group as a member and continue performing and training themselves on advanced acting techniques.

An exhibition cum workshop to know the artist and his art and to understand their passion for it.
The workshop will comprise of various segments which would showcase the artworks of artists/sculptors/graphic artists/painters, followed by a discussion/talk by selected artists explaining in detail what art means to them/ inspirations/muse/Medium followed by a small live segment where the artists would all come together to work on one single piece of canvas.
The day would have a couple of live counters giving live performances like pottery, craft, tie n dye etc.

Lullabies are probably the one song type that is sung everywhere in the world – the common denominator of music itself. All of us have been sung to sleep. In this session, we will explore lullabies sung around the world, which are written in very different styles – some major, some minor, and some exotic scales. An example lullaby we would be doing is: “Fi la nana, e mi bel fiol” from Italy!

Franz Kafka. The images the name brings. A tragic life. A tragic death. Heavy stories that brought about both despair and catharsis. Yet when he first read his epic novella Metamorphosis to his friends, he read it as if it were a comedy. The listeners laughed and clapped at the troubles of Gregor Samsa who woke up one fine morning to discover he had, somehow, metamorphosed into a bug. Gregor Samsa, the salesman turned into a bug must now face the reality of his new form and his family of parents and sister must now deal with it.

Is it a tragedy or a comedy when his manager is scared away by the bug that was/is Gregor? Is it really funny that he now has a taste for spoiled food? Is it hilarious that his family now will not look at him?

Come watch the Comedy/tragedy as the family turns from scared to sympathetic to horror and apathy, as they react to this strange illness.

The adaptation of this novella, "Gregor Samsa" by Anjali Parvati Koda, is presented by Samahaara after her earlier critically acclaimed plays "Purushotham" and "Dominic Wesley".

A free adaptation by Vithal Rajan of the late Howard Zinn's play for single actor 'Marx in Soho.' Duration between 1 hour to 75 mins. Marx's soul comes to earth for an hour to talk about his life, family, capitalism, socialism, then and now. The play is intended to show the continued relevance of Marx's theories and the all too human side of his character.
The play was performed to appreciative audiences in the USA, mostly university audiences, by the African-American actor, Brian Jones. Dr Vithal Rajan of Hyderabad received permission from Prof. Howard Zinn to adapt and perform the play in India, but was not able to do so till now. He offers it as a humble contribution to celebrate DCH 50th anniversary celebrations.
