Udaan Performing Arts, presents a Hindi play `The story revolves around a lady who is loquacious and loves company but is confined in a house by her chauvinist husband. She feels lonely and looks for company with all sorts of means in the house. She has two children and a perverted brother-in-law who is restricted to a wheel chair. She keeps chatting, exclaiming with her neighbor demonstrating her emotions with extreme measures to save her sanity. She is haunted by a crank caller, a money lender, a young lover and also exploited by her brother-in-law. Anger, frustration, restlessness, hope, regret, guilt and determination define her inner turmoil.
Ek Akeli Aurat is a testimony to the human spirit and demonstrates what we are all capable of doing when pushed to the limit of our patience. A character is found seldom in the society which is bold, beautiful and brave! Yet, the question remains, will she be able to live freely and break shackles? Will she get the love & care she desires & deserves?
