Dear Future Children focuses on the political work of three activists whose struggles are often associated with enormous personal risk. In Chile, Rayen protests for social justice; in Hong Kong, Pepper is committed to the survival of democracy; and in Uganda, Hilda is dedicated to working against the devastating consequences of climate change. The three narrative threads are linked by the shared irrepressible will of the young activists and their comrades-in-arms not to be defeated by the existing system and to fight for a better world. The events in the respective locations and the people involved are captured up close and intimately by the camera and director Franz Böhm – both on location during protests and public events and in very personal conversations.

About the talk:
From a rudimentary collective after the tenth Guru... Sikhism as an organized religion, evolved through many political challenges from extant religions. While surviving various onslaughts for a couple of centuries, it finally took control of its institutions that still bear scars of the violence done to the original thought of the 10 gurus initiated by Guru Nanak's teachings. This has impacted the current socio-political scene as well as the state of Sikh politics in Punjab.
