Landlords and some affluent families often capitalized on the naive mentality and thinking of the underprivileged villagers. It also encapsulates the way in which the offsprings of these landlords also craved and learnt from their forefathers and dwelled on naive people in the same manner. Landlords often lent money to the ones in need and demanded huge interests in return.

NIVEDYAM
It is believed that God always keeps his word. He gives justice to the poor and food to the hungry. Do these statements have any truth in them? Let's find out by watching this hilarious play Nivedyam.

Set in a village in Andhra Pradesh, Mundadugu is a play written in the year 1945 by the duo Vasireddy Bhaskar Rao and Sunkara Satyanarayana. This play is about the farmers who were oppressed and exploited by a zamindar, and how the farmers form an association and revolt against the atrocities of the zamindar.

Land revenue was one of the major sources of income for Britishers in India. The Zamindari system was one of the land tenure systems introduced in 1793, and the system was most prevalent in West Bengal, Bihar, Odisha, UP, Andhra Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh.

Written by Badal Sircar, this play is the story of a man named Bhupati, who tries to make his dream of becoming a dental doctor come true by selling the priceless property of his ancestors (an old mansion). The real joy in this story comes at that juncture when it is learned that his ancestors also reside in the same house as a soul.
Now it remains to be seen whether Bhupathi will be able to sell this house along with the ghost i.e. his ancestor? If yes, then how much effort will he have to make to reach his dream. Where on one hand Bhupati's ancestors make you feel like ghosts in this play, on the other hand the rest of the characters make you laugh. Let us see together whether Bhupathi's tooth will be uprooted or not.

Government announced for 6 years from 2016 to 2022 about a report to be submitted by 'Empowered Committee' after considering which GOMs111 restrictions would be removed. The report never came into public domain but new GO 69 was issued in 2022 removing Para 3 from GO Ms 111 of 1996.
Thus were the people of Hyderabad and Telangana cheated.

Hamid Ali Khan (27 January 1922 – 22 October 1998), better known by his stage name Ajit, was an Indian actor active in Hindi films. He acted in over two hundred movies over almost four decades. Ajit is also credited for starring as a lead actor in popular Bollywood movies such as Beqasoor, Nastik, Bada Bhai, Milan, Bara Dari, and later as the second lead in Mughal-e-Azam and Naya Daur.

He started as a hero and later got famous for the roles of sophisticated villains. He is remembered even today for his dialogues like ‘Mona Darling’ and ‘Smart Guy’.

Celebrating his centenary anniversary, Lamakaan celebrates this son of the soil films, art, legacy and much more through screening of some of the finest films on all Wednesday of the May month and discuss Ajit's work pre and post screening.
