Subhashini Kaligotla will be reading from her debut poetry collection, Bird of the Indian Subcontinent. The book was selected by poet Arundhathi Subramaniam for The (Great) Indian Poetry Collective’s second annual Emerging Poets Prize. It is a brilliant testament to the Collective’s mission of discovering and nurturing the best new poets coming out of India and the diaspora. We planned for a Short film name vajrakandaka. For this purpose we planned for an audition at lamakaan on Tuesday from 10am to 2pm.

As soon as Modi government came to power, it was focused to bring more and more foreign capital into the Indian market. Congress too always looked keen to open up various sectors one by one to bring foreign capital but BJP has taken it many steps forward in last three years. When BJP was in opposition, it opposed the same FDI’s in various sectors but now it is trying to bring more and more of it. What is the reason for this? What will be the impact of this foreign capital infusion into Indian market? BJP has relaxed the labour laws to a very large extent which means the rights of labourers are heavily curtailed. It has also given a lot of impetus for relaxation of rules and procedures for business approvals and has given a clean chit to the businessman for exploitation of various resources like farmland, water bodies, mines etc. BJP is showing a glorious future to everyone by advertising its program of “Make in India”. But with all these major changes, will Make In India benefit the common man and the working class poor of this country? Will such policy enormously benefit the foreign corporates or will it change the lives of the working class people ? Is “make in India” a populist slogan with nothing substantial for the large section of the society?

I am Anirudh and am just back from a 3 months long unplanned euro Trip. I have had some amazing experiences and adventures and got to know a lot about Travel in europe through this Trip. I did the trip very economically and would have done it much less if I had known some tips that I learnt late in my journey. As Rajkumar speaks about his unremarkable life in his nondescript village he mentions the five grains of sugar – the five people – who have stood out in his drab life for reasons stranger than fiction. The five grains become a single life-game that he has been unknowingly playing for years. Eventually he realizes that everyone has a story inside them. Rajkumar has been requested to write a poem for a compilation to be published. Come join us to watch Safarnama’s take on the play 'Shakkar Ke Paanch Daane' written by the playwright Manav Kaul and get introduced to Rajkumar to realize the absurdity of the request.

SHORT SYNOPSIS- “If I trap a prey I am a Hunter, if not I remain a beggar!” They are a free spirited nomadic tribe who began their journey many generations ago in the North Western part of the Indian subcontinent. Over time they traveled through and settled in different states of the country.
As they moved, they survived through trapping birds and hunting small game in the forests and selling them in cities and towns along with lucky charms and trinkets. If the trap failed, begging was the next best bet!
The film emerged through a series of community conversations held when we travelled with friends from a settlement in Bannerghatta, Bangalore to other settlements across Karnataka.
Exiled from the forest, reviled by the city, their traditional ways of life outlawed, the Hakki Pikkis share their stories of wit and survival.

"Jaanch Padtaal" is a hilarious comedy based on Nikolai Gogol’s play “The Inspector General” adapted into Hindi by Dr. Sanjay Sahay. The play reflects upon social issues and responsibilities. It depicts the life of a Mayor of a small town. The comfortable and corrupt lives of city officials are thrown into disarray with the impending arrival of the Inspector General. The Inspector General, however, has an agenda of his own. He receives the news that an important government officer will be visiting his town to review it and check its situation. The fact that this officer would be arriving in a disguise makes the Mayor nervous. Will the town pass the officer’s scrutiny? Let's Find out!

Chutkan lives with the family of his uncle who make him do all their work. His only escape is his imagination. Things go horribly wrong when Chutkan begins altering reality through his dreams. He changes the Mahabharata and the warring Kauravas and Pandavas now become friends. The drama folks bound by the spell of his dreams, are unable to recite their original lines. Chutkan then changes his bullying cousin into a donkey and few aggressive villagers into geese. When an exorcist is called to cure him, he dreams up the Pandavas to rescue him. They declare that the only Mahabharat that will be performed henceforth would be Chutkan’s Mahabharat in this Best Children’s Film National Award winning film that will delight everyone.

DAASI
(Bonded Women) (1988)
The film that won Rao critical respect is Daasi(Bonded Woman 1988). Set in 20's, it chronicles the unenviable life of a housemaid, who was in custom then, came as a part of dowry to a richZamindar's house. She goes through the back breaking routine of household chores as well as being expected to entertain zamindar and his male guests. When she gets pregnant, she is forced to abort. Narsing Rao, with the help of his cameraman AK Bir, recreates the graceful lifestyle of the privileged in limpid, sensuous images, as when the wife of the zamindaris bathed and coiffeured by her maids, and contrasts it effectively with his bleak suffocating world of the housemaid, whose world is not her own. This film won five National Awards, including the one for Best Actress, won by Archana who played her role with consummate skill.
'Dasi' bagged the Diploma of Merit award at the Moscow International Film Festival in 1989. Due to its meticulous technicality and superior artistic sense, 'Dasi' was considered a milestone not only in Telugu but also in Indian cinema.

Another documentary 'Akruti' (shape) is about rock formations. Beautifully captured, it brings out Rao's love for nature. It could pass the test of an international geography documentary. Rao says he owes his diverse talents to his rustic origins--the simplistic lifestyle of that rural folk, the pristine nature around, the naive influences, impressions and beliefs of people from the hinterland. In Telugu cinema circles, Rao is called 'The Killer of Kitsch', or one who goes against the tide.

We planned for a Short film name vajrakandaka. For this purpose we planned for an audition at lamakaan on Tuesday from 10am to 2pm.

As soon as Modi government came to power, it was focused to bring more and more foreign capital into the Indian market. Congress too always looked keen to open up various sectors one by one to bring foreign capital but BJP has taken it many steps forward in last three years. When BJP was in opposition, it opposed the same FDI’s in various sectors but now it is trying to bring more and more of it. What is the reason for this? What will be the impact of this foreign capital infusion into Indian market? BJP has relaxed the labour laws to a very large extent which means the rights of labourers are heavily curtailed. It has also given a lot of impetus for relaxation of rules and procedures for business approvals and has given a clean chit to the businessman for exploitation of various resources like farmland, water bodies, mines etc. BJP is showing a glorious future to everyone by advertising its program of “Make in India”. But with all these major changes, will Make In India benefit the common man and the working class poor of this country? Will such policy enormously benefit the foreign corporates or will it change the lives of the working class people ? Is “make in India” a populist slogan with nothing substantial for the large section of the society?

The five grains become a single life-game that he has been unknowingly playing for years. Eventually he realizes that everyone has a story inside them. Rajkumar has been requested to write a poem for a compilation to be published. SHORT SYNOPSIS- “If I trap a prey I am a Hunter, if not I remain a beggar!” They are a free spirited nomadic tribe who began their journey many generations ago in the North Western part of the Indian subcontinent. Over time they traveled through and settled in different states of the country.
As they moved, they survived through trapping birds and hunting small game in the forests and selling them in cities and towns along with lucky charms and trinkets. If the trap failed, begging was the next best bet!
The film emerged through a series of community conversations held when we travelled with friends from a settlement in Bannerghatta, Bangalore to other settlements across Karnataka.
Exiled from the forest, reviled by the city, their traditional ways of life outlawed, the Hakki Pikkis share their stories of wit and survival.

"Jaanch Padtaal" is a hilarious comedy based on Nikolai Gogol’s play “The Inspector General” adapted into Hindi by Dr. Sanjay Sahay. The play reflects upon social issues and responsibilities. It depicts the life of a Mayor of a small town. The comfortable and corrupt lives of city officials are thrown into disarray with the impending arrival of the Inspector General. The Inspector General, however, has an agenda of his own. He receives the news that an important government officer will be visiting his town to review it and check its situation. The fact that this officer would be arriving in a disguise makes the Mayor nervous. Will the town pass the officer’s scrutiny? Let's Find out!

Asma Jahangir of Pakistan was a leading Supreme Court Lawyer, Renowned Human Rights Activist, UN Rapporteur and a staunch votary of India - Pakistan peace. Her demise on 11th Feb 2018 due to cardiac arrest is an irreparable loss for South Asia. Chutkan’s Mahabharat

Chutkan lives with the family of his uncle who make him do all their work. His only escape is his imagination. Things go horribly wrong when Chutkan begins altering reality through his dreams. He changes the Mahabharata and the warring Kauravas and Pandavas now become friends. The drama folks bound by the spell of his dreams, are unable to recite their original lines. Chutkan then changes his bullying cousin into a donkey and few aggressive villagers into geese. When an exorcist is called to cure him, he dreams up the Pandavas to rescue him. They declare that the only Mahabharat that will be performed henceforth would be Chutkan’s Mahabharat in this Best Children’s Film National Award winning film that will delight everyone.

DAASI
(Bonded Women) (1988)
The film that won Rao critical respect is Daasi(Bonded Woman 1988). Set in 20's, it chronicles the unenviable life of a housemaid, who was in custom then, came as a part of dowry to a richZamindar's house. She goes through the back breaking routine of household chores as well as being expected to entertain zamindar and his male guests. When she gets pregnant, she is forced to abort. Narsing Rao, with the help of his cameraman AK Bir, recreates the graceful lifestyle of the privileged in limpid, sensuous images, as when the wife of the zamindaris bathed and coiffeured by her maids, and contrasts it effectively with his bleak suffocating world of the housemaid, whose world is not her own. This film won five National Awards, including the one for Best Actress, won by Archana who played her role with consummate skill.
'Dasi' bagged the Diploma of Merit award at the Moscow International Film Festival in 1989. Due to its meticulous technicality and superior artistic sense, 'Dasi' was considered a milestone not only in Telugu but also in Indian cinema.

(MUD PEOPLE) (1990)
is based on the lives of construction labourers and their interaction with cosmopolitan life.
It received the Diploma in Merit award in the Moscow International Film Festival in 1991. Earlier in 1990, it won the National Award for best regional film in Telugu.

Group of filmmakers is meeting together and discussing on making films.

Predominantly a film discussion, which is scarce around.
The discussions on goes with two topics. One the personal opinions we have on a certain topic, which is just a meet and greet. The other is technical, where planned questions were raised and thoughts explored.

We live in a world where no one has the time to listen. In fact, we ourselves in many cases, keep back from truly listening. Which in turn had enormously affected our need for EXPRESSION!

"Cosy Ears" is a genuine initiative towards addressing these difficulties, by channeling out our inner voices through various mediums. Primarily, by just making an effort to LISTEN!

Our purpose is to provide you a platform where you'll be heard, where you can share your "true feelings" without the fear of being judged and rely on a community of empathetic individuals : )

Another documentary 'Akruti' (shape) is about rock formations. Beautifully captured, it brings out Rao's love for nature. It could pass the test of an international geography documentary. It won the Special Jury Award of the International Film Festival of India and also Silver Nandi Award in 1991. Rao says he owes his diverse talents to his rustic origins--the simplistic lifestyle of that rural folk, the pristine nature around, the naive influences, impressions and beliefs of people from the hinterland. In Telugu cinema circles, Rao is called 'The Killer of Kitsch', or one who goes against the tide.
