Shreya Iyer is the Daughter and student of Smt. Suganda Sreenath of Jayendra Kalakendra, San Jose, California. Shreya has been learning Bharatanatyam for the past 17 years under her mother and has also been learning with the Dhananjayans. After completing her arangetram in 2007 she continued to learn, teach and choreograph at Jayendra Kalakendra. She is the niece of Smt. Ananda Shankar Jayant, one of India’s most eminent and renowned dancers.

A Bard Short interpretation for an Indian audience of Shakespeare's triumphal 'nationalist' play, staged after the defeat of the Spanish Armada. Every British production since then has been triumphalist.

Vithal Rajan, an Indian actor and Shakespearean, takes the Bard's own words, short scenes from films, and art to examine the play from an anti-war subaltern perspective.

A Doctoral Researcher at the Department of Communication, University of Hyderabad, working in the area of Feminist Media Studies is organising 3 Focus Group Discussions. Her research is attempt to understand how one gets a sense of their gender, how one comes into feminism, and the kind of conversations that take place around gender, feminism/feminist ideas within families, amongst peer groups, and discussions generated by media content. Focus Group Discussions are the first step in this study process to understand the role media and peer groups play in informing/shaping/understanding their identities.

'Cowspiracy, the sustainability secret' is a ground-breaking yet humorous documentary that uncovers the most devastating human act facing the planet, and offers a path to global sustainability.

Animal agriculture is the leading cause of deforestation, water consumption and pollution, is responsible for more greenhouse gases than the transportation industry, and is a primary driver of rainforest destruction, species extinction, habitat loss, topsoil erosion, ocean “dead zones,” and virtually every other environmental ill.

This screening, organized by India Against Speciesism and Khula Manch, will be followed by a brief discussion on other related issues and the role of individuals.

This is going to be a photography exhibition of around 15 pictures focusing mainly on the landscapes and fauna of Leh- Ladakh shot in the month of June. No one can be told how Leh is, one has to experience it themselves. to take in the beauty and serenity of the place. Credited as one of the most exquisite pentatonic ragas, Mohana is predominantly known for devotion, love, sensitivity and beauty. Mohana at once fits into any emotional intensity and every genre ranging from Western Classical, Indian Classical, semi-classical, ghazal and film music.

All India Students Association (AISA) in collaboration with Lamakaan is organising an introduction of the book "Gujarat Files: Anatomy Of A Cover Up" followed by talk by the author Rana Ayyub, whose account of an eight-month long undercover investigative journalism into the Gujarat riots, fake encounters and the murder of state Home Minister Haren Pandya brings to the fore the startling revelations of then Gujarat government under Modi into picture.

On part with it various attacks on intellectuals and students all over the country has exposed the anti-intellectual face of the Modi Sarkar, exposing it Rama Naga, General Secretary, Jawaharlal Nehru University Students Union (JNUSU) will also be putting his experiences and perspectives of attack on students especially the marginalised and Dalits.

About the Book:
In 2010, the journalist Rana Ayyub spent eight months undercover in Gujarat. Ayyub, who was then working for Tehelka magazine, posed as a filmmaker. She met bureaucrats and senior police officials in Gujarat who held pivotal positions in the state between 2001 and 2010. The transcripts of the sting operation, unpublished so far, form the core of her book Gujarat Files: Anatomy of a Cover Up. The self-published book narrates what the officials revealed about the complicity of the state machinery in the anti-Muslim violence in 2002, as well as in “encounters” such as the one that resulted in the killing of Ishrat Jehan, and the murder of the state home minister Haren Pandya, events that accompanied the consolidation of power in Gujarat by Narendra Modi and Amit Shah.

All India Students Association (AISA) in collaboration with Lamakaan is organising an introduction of the book "Gujarat Files: Anatomy Of A Cover Up" followed by talk by the author Rana Ayyub, whose account of an eight-month long undercover investigative journalism into the Gujarat riots, fake encounters and the murder of state Home Minister Haren Pandya brings to the fore the startling revelations of then Gujarat government under Modi into picture.

On part with it various attacks on intellectuals and students all over the country has exposed the anti-intellectual face of the Modi Sarkar, exposing it Rama Naga, General Secretary, Jawaharlal Nehru University Students Union (JNUSU) will also be putting his experiences and perspectives of attack on students especially the marginalised and Dalits.

About the Book:
In 2010, the journalist Rana Ayyub spent eight months undercover in Gujarat. Ayyub, who was then working for Tehelka magazine, posed as a filmmaker. She met bureaucrats and senior police officials in Gujarat who held pivotal positions in the state between 2001 and 2010. The transcripts of the sting operation, unpublished so far, form the core of her book Gujarat Files: Anatomy of a Cover Up. The self-published book narrates what the officials revealed about the complicity of the state machinery in the anti-Muslim violence in 2002, as well as in “encounters” such as the one that resulted in the killing of Ishrat Jehan, and the murder of the state home minister Haren Pandya, events that accompanied the consolidation of power in Gujarat by Narendra Modi and Amit Shah.
