the evil sorcerer has other plans.He wants his lamp back....

The Short Film mostly concentrated on Education and its Importance. Especially in Telangana Region, rural area people not interested to encourage their children for higher education, due to the poverty problem. In this context we planned to educate those people. This short Film shows the reality of the rural people attitude about the education importance. A poor Labor son gets more marks, than the land lord's daughter. But the labor not interested to continue the studies of his son. But when he heard the land lord daughter's marks, he will realize. His Son got more than the Land Lard Daughter' marks. Than he accepts to continue his son's further studies.

Screening is followed by "Value of education for our hinterlands".

Come watch the ensuing chaos and hilarity that unfold in this Telugu comedy.

Known to her friends as ‘Vanaa’ lived an exemplary life by standing by her convictions and values. It was impossible for her to watch violation of any helpless persons rights as a mere spectator. She always acted to support the week. She was a fine human being and a great human-rights lawyer. She was passionate and committed to her values.

She was born on 13th July in 1971 in Sangareddy and studied there till graduation. She chose law as a career with a clear vision and a specific purpose – to defend the week and helpless i.e. children and women. She became a lawyer in 1994. She worked in Hyderabad City Civil Court. She was always a lawyer and also a strong human rights activist. Fighting to defend the week came to her naturally.

Vanaja was an exceptional human being and all those who came to know her felt proud of knowing her.

It's an 'unfair' game of membership that's currently underway at the city's Secunderabad Club. Repeatedly under attack for its women-unfriendly rulebook, the 135-year-old club has now decided to 'award' its lady members permanent membership, a privilege so far enjoyed by gentlemen alone.

But here's the catch: This provision, currently at proposal stage, will be exclusively extended to the children (on turning 25) of male members. The sons/daughters of female members of the club - referred to as Associate Member Lady (AML) - will continue to be blacklisted once they reach that age.

The paucity of time would mean that we only get to scratch the surface, but it would be a worthy initiation into the wonderful art.

A young man, Smirnov, comes to Popova to get his debt back that Popova’s late husband had borrowed from him. Will he get his money back?

The Proposal
The play is set in rural countryside of Russia. When Ivan arrives at the home of the Chubukov family, the elderly Stepan assumes that the well-dressed young man has come to borrow money. Instead, Stepan is pleased when Ivan asks for his daughter's hand in marriage. Stepan whole-heartedly bestows his blessing, declaring that he already loves him like a son. The old man then leaves to fetch his daughter, assuring the younger man that Natalya will graciously accept the proposal. Will she?

A discussion on "Telugu Wikipedia" to improve its context and complexion to enhance information required for Telugu Society's overall development.

This will be the workshop production of the mime workshop Natvarya. The participants of the workshop and the trainer/s will put together a mime production and present it.

Natvarya is a workshop conducted by Indian Mime Academy, the Hyderabad based mime institution. The workshop will be conducted by Arusam Madhusudan, a.k.a. Mime Madhu, who is also the founder and director of Indian Mime Academy.

This is a workshop on Social Entrepreneurship focused on how a social entrepreneur brings in change for the society at large and the communities served.

Come to this listening post to find fascinating ways in which music is written down in different time periods and cultures. Also explore a new way to write down and transfer Indian Classical music.

Let us take a trip through time to diverse forms of notated music and through different countries and musical systems and find out about the representation of music on humble paper sheets. Is notation system getting impacted by other methods of being able to share music?

Presented by Tejaswinee Kelkar, who is at present doing her MS at IIIT in Hyderabad. She has studied Western Classical as well as Hindustani Classical music and is locally part of the choir group the Deccan Voices.

Known to her friends as ‘Vanaa’ lived an exemplary life by standing by her convictions and values. It was impossible for her to watch violation of any helpless persons rights as a mere spectator. She always acted to support the week. She was a fine human being and a great human-rights lawyer. She was passionate and committed to her values.

She was born on 13th July in 1971 in Sangareddy and studied there till graduation. She chose law as a career with a clear vision and a specific purpose – to defend the week and helpless i.e. children and women. She became a lawyer in 1994. She worked in Hyderabad City Civil Court. She was always a lawyer and also a strong human rights activist. Fighting to defend the week came to her naturally.

Vanaja was an exceptional human being and all those who came to know her felt proud of knowing her.

Presented by George Hull, who is a Doctor by profession and also.plays the Saxophone professionally. He has completed his ABRSM.Jazz Saxophone Grades and is part of the city's Jazz band -"Jazz For Joy"

It's an 'unfair' game of membership that's currently underway at the city's Secunderabad Club. Repeatedly under attack for its women-unfriendly rulebook, the 135-year-old club has now decided to 'award' its lady members permanent membership, a privilege so far enjoyed by gentlemen alone.

But here's the catch: This provision, currently at proposal stage, will be exclusively extended to the children (on turning 25) of male members. The sons/daughters of female members of the club - referred to as Associate Member Lady (AML) - will continue to be blacklisted once they reach that age.

The workshop is an introductory session with a discussion of the basic instruments of an actor, a few exercises, and a general appreciation of the art of acting. It is specially suited for beginners and novices, who are interested in exploring theatre and acting, but have not done much acting before. The paucity of time would mean that we only get to scratch the surface, but it would be a worthy initiation into the wonderful art.

The Bear
A young man, Smirnov, comes to Popova to get his debt back that Popova’s late husband had borrowed from him. Will he get his money back?

The Proposal
The play is set in rural countryside of Russia. When Ivan arrives at the home of the Chubukov family, the elderly Stepan assumes that the well-dressed young man has come to borrow money. Instead, Stepan is pleased when Ivan asks for his daughter's hand in marriage. Stepan whole-heartedly bestows his blessing, declaring that he already loves him like a son. The old man then leaves to fetch his daughter, assuring the younger man that Natalya will graciously accept the proposal. Will she?

A discussion on "Telugu Wikipedia" to improve its context and complexion to enhance information required for Telugu Society's overall development.

This will be the workshop production of the mime workshop Natvarya. The participants of the workshop and the trainer/s will put together a mime production and present it.

Natvarya is a workshop conducted by Indian Mime Academy, the Hyderabad based mime institution. The workshop will be conducted by Arusam Madhusudan, a.k.a. Mime Madhu, who is also the founder and director of Indian Mime Academy.

This is a workshop on Social Entrepreneurship focused on how a social entrepreneur brings in change for the society at large and the communities served.

Workshop on Social Entrepreneurship is being organised at Lamakaan on 26th July (between 5 pm to 8 pm), with the purpose of understanding the basic concepts and how a social entrepreneur can engage and partner with communities, to bring in a societal change. But to the east too, beleaguered adivasis from the mineral-rich hills of Odisha come forth bearing their axes, and their songs. And in the north the swelling protests by Punjabi peasants sees hope coagulate– once more–around that iconic figure of Bhagat Singh, revolutionary martyr of the anti-colonial struggle. But are revolutions even possible anymore? Or have those dreams been ground down into our nightmares? This is a chronicle of those who live the revolutionary ideal in India, a rare encounter with the invisible domain of those whose everyday is a fight for another ideal of the world.

‘Maoism teaches us that self-preservation is possible only through war’ the disembodied voice of an ideologue fills the forest, now peopled by armed guerillas. This subterranean war broke out more than half a century ago, and the continuing battle is shaped not just with bullets and explosives, but also ideas. ‘Population is the center of gravity’, says the officer charged with training policemen in jungle warfare in Bastar, with turning them into soldiers who can take-on the Maoist rebellion – ‘whichever side the population tilts, that side wins’. This is the struggle that the Indian Prime Minister has referred to as the ‘single greatest internal security threat to the nation’. As if in answer, the words of the radical Punjabi poet Pash return to haunt us – ‘If the security of the land calls for a life without conscience… then the security of the land is a threat to us’. His words draw us back into a zone of conscience, of those who resolutely resist the inequalities and injustices of the present, in defence of another utopian ideal of the world.
The third in a cycle of films that interrogate the workings of Indian democracy, Red Ant Dream (2013) follows Jashn-e-Azadi (2007) about the idea of freedom for Kashmir, and Words on Water (2002) about the people’s movement against large dams in the Narmada valley.

Come to this listening post to find fascinating ways in which music is written down in different time periods and cultures. Also explore a new way to write down and transfer Indian Classical music.

Let us take a trip through time to diverse forms of notated music and through different countries and musical systems and find out about the representation of music on humble paper sheets. Is notation system getting impacted by other methods of being able to share music?

Presented by Tejaswinee Kelkar, who is at present doing her MS at IIIT in Hyderabad. She has studied Western Classical as well as Hindustani Classical music and is locally part of the choir group the Deccan Voices.
