Through the verbal space offered by audio visual medium and Ghazal rendition, Dr Manisha Bangar and Mrs Mala Bararia present the journey of Urdu Literary Culture in between the times of its creation in prose and poetry , its achievement of historical preeminence ,its preservation by Urdu lovers through popular genres like "bayaz( notebooks)"takirah's"( anthologies), "mushairas"( poetry recitation sessions), the ustad-shagird tradition, the classical ghazal , AND the contemporary Urdu culture which lies beyond the" patterned classical mushairas" /classical ghazal and finds place in the modern" public space musical mushaira's","pop ghazal", "filmi ghazal trapped in CD and Casatte culture" and ghazal spilling into non Urdu culture domains.
In so far as they show an undiminished enthusiasm ,the presenters leave to the modern hearers to decide the current health of the Urdu Literary Culture in general and Urdu Ghazal in particular.

An absurdist light comedy that questions the already existing class structures in an allegorical manner.

A lighthearted comedy, that very subtly criticizes class struggle and it's fallacies. The script is an allegory, and vaguely fits under the umbrella term "Absurdist Plays". A relatively short play, it mainly aims to entertain, while at the same time hinting the message it intends to deliver to the audience.

A two part improv play, that intends to remove the restrictions of an scripted play, and give the characters(actors) the ability to spontaneously interact on stage. What will happen on stage will not be choreographed earlier, rather, we intend to create a play out of characters freely interacting on stage. We intend to make characters the authors of the play. It will be done in two parts, and both the plays will run on the same principle. A set will be decided and characters will interact within the provided set.

A meetup of like minded individuals - working in or owning their own company- who have faced issues with selling or marketing of products or services.

As a part of our role of young leaders in politics series of talks we have Mr Dilip Sankarreddy, Loksatta to talk on his vision & experiences. Dilip Sankarreddy is a politician, social worker, business professional, environmentalist and poet. He is currently serving people full-time and campaigning as the MLA candidate representing Lok Satta Party for 2014 Assembly elections at Malkajgiri Assembly Constituency. He is also a member of the National Council of Lok Satta Party.He is the winner of World Bank India Development Marketplace Award 2007 for providing innovative lighting solutions to tribals and nomads across India and his work has been recognized by various universities and governments.He is a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science from PES Institute of Technology, Bangalore and a Full-Time MBA from the world renowned University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

The Tragedy of Hamlet, Prince of Denmark is a tragedy by William Shakespeare. Set in the Kingdom of Denmark, the play dramatizes the revenge Prince Hamlet exacts on his uncle Claudius for murdering King Hamlet, Claudius's brother and Prince Hamlet's father, and then succeeding to the throne and taking as his wife Gertrude, the old king's widow and Prince Hamlet's mother. The play vividly portrays both true and feigned madness – from overwhelming sorrow to seething rage – and explores themes of treachery, revenge, incest, and moral corruption and family.

RDBO stands for Rang De Box Office. It is an intiative of the Rang De Hyderabad Chapter. The aim of Rang De Hyderabad Chapter is to screen a documentary that deals with social issues that our India faces today. These films are made by filmmakers of all nationalities who want to shine a spotlight on social issues ranging from gender injustices, the climate change to the suicide of farmers in rural areas of India. Our will is two-fold: to screen these films for free (the audience is not charged)& then to have a discussion about the topic of the documentary among the audience after the screening.

The original script “NIROP” is written by Dr. Vasant Sabnis in Marathi which has been adapted in Hindi by Ms. Amruta Patwardan.

A protagonist, who is very much confused as how to end his life either by consuming poison or hanging himself because nothing falls for him in a right place. He is unemployed and has break-up with his girlfriend.
While the protagonist is in the process of committing suicide in his house, his best friend bumps into his house with whom he shares his emotional and romantic moments. The friend doesn’t even refrain him from attempting suicide as he is aware of protagonist’s nature and leaves him in lurch.
Thereafter he is visited by different people for their personal means and reasons, knowing his intentions and not stopping him from committing suicide. Then at the last moment of his life a stranger comes to him and his thought takes a twist and changes his life.

The book Telangana-Andhra: Castes, Regions and Politic in Andhra Pradesh by Dr. Inukonda Thirumali, Senior Fellow, ICSSR is an attempt to present the historical reasons for regional stand-off between Andhra and Telangana. The book gives reasons for the signing of Gentlemen’s Agreement that consequently, in his opinion, widened the gulf between the regions. It also establishes the unjust nature of democracy by the faction ridden Congress of Andhra that has maintained regional differences further. The book also discusses the functioning of democracy and dwells on social marginalization and political exclusion of Telangana lower classes whose response to affluent agrarian communities for their monopolization of their resources is the present Telangana movement. This mass involvement in the movement would continue the struggle on long-term basis. However the leadership is in the hands of Telangana regional elite making the lower classes to suspect them. The movement continues, the author predicts, provided this internal conflict is amicably resolved. The author makes a comprehensive statement on the silence the Muslims observe on linguistic state as well as on the possible Telangana state. The book also gives reasons for rise of smaller states and why the Centre maintains apathy.

"Growth Engines or New Capitalist Enclaves?"
(A Photo Documentation of Special Economic Zones and Industrial Corridor Projects in Andhra Pradesh)- by Dr. Usha Seetha Lakshmi.

This compilation of photo essays is aimed at providing a counter point to the dominant claims around the largely private capital, SEZ-led, industrial growth model being promoted by the Government from a multi-dimensional lens. These visual testimonies from the ground seek to focus on the “other side” of this growth process, drawing attention to the attendant negative costs involved and the displaced poor who are compelled to bear these costs. The facts weaved into these visuals clearly demonstrate that far from boosting economic activity, creating any new infrastructure or employment, these engines of growth have in fact become the new capitalist enclaves, grabbing lands belonging to the poor, encroaching on local resources, eroding a diversity of livelihoods and cultures and taking a free ride on wholesale tax, tariff and infrastructural incentives offered by the State which has in fact been created through public investments and tax payers money.

According to the Government of Andhra Pradesh, 25 lakh persons would be provided employment (both direct and indirect) in the State once all the SEZs become operational. Out of 76 SEZs notified so far, only close to 30 zones have become operational and the Employment generated in these SEZs is to the tune of 54,774 people. More than 60% of the employment projected and realized again is from IT/ITES sector alone. As against 70,000 crores of investment projected in the SEZs, only Rs.10,000 crores has been realized to date. While the government claims that most of the SEZs are being set up in backward areas, evidence from the field again reveals that a majority of these SEZs as well as industrial parks and corridors are concentrated around big metro cities and towns or close to ports, airports and highways in the State, which offer a good connectivity and locational advantage to the developers of these projects.

said Swami Vivekananda, but the children of today, the so called citizens of tomorrow, burdened as they are with heavy loads of work both at school and home end up drained physically, psychologically as well as intellectually. The present play looks at children who are pressurized into total and abject surrender to the whims and fancies of the parents who try to force them to do things which they could not achieve. A child who is supposed to educate himself enjoying the process, today as result of the system and untenable educational policies finds himself at the wits end and the consequences of this could in long term be disastrous. Unrelenting parents, more concerned of their social status than of the child’s welfare, coupled with teachers and schools furthering their commercial objectives, today literally squeeze the life out of the child. The day of an average child is made so busy with endless lessons, tuitions, music classes and what not that the child is not left even with a little time to talk to himself. The end result of all this busy busy lifestyle could lead to dysfunctional tendencies in the child and is actually reflected in the rising numbers of juvenile crimes and juvenile delinquents and more importantly juvenile suicides

The child’s efforts to achieve success in the limited parameters are mocked at by the parents and comparisons are drawn to the vaguest of relatives. The child is pressurized to such an extent that he sees devils in the subjects. The child thus becomes a flower nipped in the bud, even before he could bloom. The strangulated fragrance comes across as an unbearable stench of false parental pride and indulgence. The play tries to show how a child’s life is a never ending cycle of struggles to survive in this world of make believe competition (more in the minds of the parents than actually) and is no less than a dangerous circus feat. But the ironical question is, What do the children achieve after all this . Do they get to study what they want? Do they have a say in the running of their lives? Is their innocence a thing of past? Is their childhood lost somewhere behind the unending and unconquerable heaps of books? These and lot more hard-hitting questions of this sort are sought to be asked of the audience through this play. Just prick your ears and listen to the faint cries of help, listen carefully … they are growing into a crescendo.

Singarayakonda is a small town in Prakasam district south of AP with 20,000 population. The town faces acute water problems. The check-dam construction is being cancelled from the last two decades for reasons unclear. We try to address problems and arrive a possible solution.

Azeez, Irrigation chief engineer will be the interacting and explains the ways to get the irrigation project of the ground and how to get water to the crops while the underground water engineer explains how to get drinking water and other possible ways.

A short film starring veteran and BAFTA award winning actress Rohini Hattangady, Do Pahar or Afternoon is about an unlikely bond that develops between an elderly, abused woman and a hit man when, curious by nature, she invites him into her house (a perfect place to keep vigil on his target). Yet, while he is a killer, he’s also sympathetic and while she is old and abused, she’s also stubborn and fearless.

As the afternoon progresses, she kindles in him a few forgotten childhood memories while the hit man by his very nature invites her to confess her darkest desires. Just this one afternoon alludes to a lifetime for the two as they break moral stereotypes. While she discovers her ‘knight in shining armor’ in the hit man, he in turn finds in the old woman, his ‘perfect partner in crime’.

The book Telangana-Andhra: Castes, Regions and Politic in Andhra Pradesh by Dr. Inukonda Thirumali, Senior Fellow, ICSSR is an attempt to present the historical reasons for regional stand-off between Andhra and Telangana. The book gives reasons for the signing of Gentlemen’s Agreement that consequently, in his opinion, widened the gulf between the regions. It also establishes the unjust nature of democracy by the faction ridden Congress of Andhra that has maintained regional differences further. The book also discusses the functioning of democracy and dwells on social marginalization and political exclusion of Telangana lower classes whose response to affluent agrarian communities for their monopolization of their resources is the present Telangana movement. This mass involvement in the movement would continue the struggle on long-term basis. However the leadership is in the hands of Telangana regional elite making the lower classes to suspect them. The movement continues, the author predicts, provided this internal conflict is amicably resolved. The author makes a comprehensive statement on the silence the Muslims observe on linguistic state as well as on the possible Telangana state. The book also gives reasons for rise of smaller states and why the Centre maintains apathy.

"Growth Engines or New Capitalist Enclaves?"
(A Photo Documentation of Special Economic Zones and Industrial Corridor Projects in Andhra Pradesh)- by Dr. Usha Seetha Lakshmi.

This compilation of photo essays is aimed at providing a counter point to the dominant claims around the largely private capital, SEZ-led, industrial growth model being promoted by the Government from a multi-dimensional lens. These visual testimonies from the ground seek to focus on the “other side” of this growth process, drawing attention to the attendant negative costs involved and the displaced poor who are compelled to bear these costs. The facts weaved into these visuals clearly demonstrate that far from boosting economic activity, creating any new infrastructure or employment, these engines of growth have in fact become the new capitalist enclaves, grabbing lands belonging to the poor, encroaching on local resources, eroding a diversity of livelihoods and cultures and taking a free ride on wholesale tax, tariff and infrastructural incentives offered by the State which has in fact been created through public investments and tax payers money.

According to the Government of Andhra Pradesh, 25 lakh persons would be provided employment (both direct and indirect) in the State once all the SEZs become operational. Out of 76 SEZs notified so far, only close to 30 zones have become operational and the Employment generated in these SEZs is to the tune of 54,774 people. More than 60% of the employment projected and realized again is from IT/ITES sector alone. As against 70,000 crores of investment projected in the SEZs, only Rs.10,000 crores has been realized to date. While the government claims that most of the SEZs are being set up in backward areas, evidence from the field again reveals that a majority of these SEZs as well as industrial parks and corridors are concentrated around big metro cities and towns or close to ports, airports and highways in the State, which offer a good connectivity and locational advantage to the developers of these projects.

said Swami Vivekananda, but the children of today, the so called citizens of tomorrow, burdened as they are with heavy loads of work both at school and home end up drained physically, psychologically as well as intellectually. The present play looks at children who are pressurized into total and abject surrender to the whims and fancies of the parents who try to force them to do things which they could not achieve. A child who is supposed to educate himself enjoying the process, today as result of the system and untenable educational policies finds himself at the wits end and the consequences of this could in long term be disastrous. Unrelenting parents, more concerned of their social status than of the child’s welfare, coupled with teachers and schools furthering their commercial objectives, today literally squeeze the life out of the child. The day of an average child is made so busy with endless lessons, tuitions, music classes and what not that the child is not left even with a little time to talk to himself. The end result of all this busy busy lifestyle could lead to dysfunctional tendencies in the child and is actually reflected in the rising numbers of juvenile crimes and juvenile delinquents and more importantly juvenile suicides

The child’s efforts to achieve success in the limited parameters are mocked at by the parents and comparisons are drawn to the vaguest of relatives. The child is pressurized to such an extent that he sees devils in the subjects. The child thus becomes a flower nipped in the bud, even before he could bloom. The strangulated fragrance comes across as an unbearable stench of false parental pride and indulgence. The play tries to show how a child’s life is a never ending cycle of struggles to survive in this world of make believe competition (more in the minds of the parents than actually) and is no less than a dangerous circus feat. But the ironical question is, What do the children achieve after all this . Do they get to study what they want? Do they have a say in the running of their lives? Is their innocence a thing of past? Is their childhood lost somewhere behind the unending and unconquerable heaps of books? These and lot more hard-hitting questions of this sort are sought to be asked of the audience through this play. Just prick your ears and listen to the faint cries of help, listen carefully … they are growing into a crescendo.

The second Mime Skit is on a lighter side titled Who Gets Her Boss which shows the struggle of two soldiers trying hard to win the Colonel's Daughter's heart by competing with each other but finally what happens who gets to take the Boss's Daughter or there is a twist in the story one has to watch to know the climax.

As the stroy begins to unfold we have Bhageera the Panther narrating the story of the ManCub (Mowgli) who is found in the jungle and brought up by the wolfs, but is being forced to go back as Sher Khan the Tiger has come to know about the existance of a human and wants to kill him and is on the prowl to trace him. it is all adventrous as to how Mowgli finally reaches a village with the help of Bagheera n Ballu the Bear.

Singarayakonda is a small town in Prakasam district south of AP with 20,000 population. The town faces acute water problems. The check-dam construction is being cancelled from the last two decades for reasons unclear. We try to address problems and arrive a possible solution.

Azeez, Irrigation chief engineer will be the interacting and explains the ways to get the irrigation project of the ground and how to get water to the crops while the underground water engineer explains how to get drinking water and other possible ways.

A short film starring veteran and BAFTA award winning actress Rohini Hattangady, Do Pahar or Afternoon is about an unlikely bond that develops between an elderly, abused woman and a hit man when, curious by nature, she invites him into her house (a perfect place to keep vigil on his target). Yet, while he is a killer, he’s also sympathetic and while she is old and abused, she’s also stubborn and fearless.

As the afternoon progresses, she kindles in him a few forgotten childhood memories while the hit man by his very nature invites her to confess her darkest desires. Just this one afternoon alludes to a lifetime for the two as they break moral stereotypes. While she discovers her ‘knight in shining armor’ in the hit man, he in turn finds in the old woman, his ‘perfect partner in crime’.
