Amidst the euphoria of 70 years of independence, one must not forget to ask some pertinent questions: who is free today? Are we free from poverty, hunger and malnutrition? Are we free from caste-based atrocities and communal violence? Do we have freedom to choose our life partner? Do we have freedom to choose what we wish to eat? There could not have been a better day to discuss such issues than the Independence Day. Hence the discussion forum ‘In Defense of Reason’ is organizing a discussion on these issues on the coming Independence Day. All those who believe that these issues are important, are cordially invited to be part of this discussion.
