'Children of the forest' a film by Dr. Mayuri Panse on the animal orphanage started by Dr. Prakash Amte 35 years ago. For 35 years, Dr. Prakash Amte and his family have worked to provide a better life for the backward Madia by providing them medical care, education and teaching this hunter-gatherer tribe to farm. Dr. Amte began taking in animal babies that were orphaned when the Madia hunted the parents for food. The orphanage has grown to include a huge variety of animals who live in absolute harmony.
