Every Wednesday, Lamakaan transforms into a portal to the cinematic worlds of Jacques Annaud, the acclaimed French filmmaker born on 1 October 1943 in Juvisy-sur-Orge, France. Known for his sweeping narratives and anthropological depth, Annaud’s films traverse time, terrain, and the human spirit.
This weekly festival showcases his most iconic works—from prehistoric odysseys to spiritual awakenings—each film a masterclass in visual storytelling and cultural immersion. Whether you're a film student, history buff, or simply a lover of bold cinema, Annaud’s lens offers something unforgettable.

Kaleidoscope is the new title written by Devika Das. It is a compilation of artist interviews reflecting on their association with art. Also, the book features one piece of artwork of each contributor. In this anthology, artists reflect how art has impacted and made a difference in their outlook towards life.

Organized by artalyst.change, a youth community promoting arts and literary values. On 07th October, as it is marking two years of the current ongoing inhumane genocide in Ghaza. We stand in solidarity with Palestine.
The program includes:
1. Screening of documentary on the occupation and genocide in Palestine
2. talk by experts reflecting on the inhumane oppression
3. Art installation symbolizing resistance and resilience

through film discussion and art the event seeks to create awareness empathy and collective commitment to justice
The event is open for all and free for everyone.

Premiere screening of Oh Satyabhama and Hey Chinnavada Oh Satyabhama and Hey Chinnavada — two soulful Telugu indie music videos — will premiere at Lamakaan, bringing together music, poetry, and cinema in one intimate evening.

Created by lyricist Alamkrutha Gamini and composer Raghuvamsh Chavali, these songs are part of a larger indie vision: to craft original Telugu music rooted in emotion yet resonant with global audiences. Produced in collaboration with UTP Networks, an emerging production house supporting new creative voices, this event reflects the growing strength of independent art in Hyderabad.

These twin tracks offer a unique duet experience, exploring love from both male and female perspectives. Sung by Kalyan Vasanth and Vaishnavi Kovvuri, the songs capture two sides of the same story, creating a rare musical conversation.

SHOI is primarily a Bengali theatre group in Hyderabad. SHOi has been operational for almost one and a half years now, and has earned a good name in Hyderabad theatre circuit. 2 of or famous plays are namely Octopus Ltd ESTD 2024 and Hamlet Ya Nahi? TRAASADI is a soul stirring journey through loss and redemption.

It is a story about someone confronting the deep emotions lurking behind grief—regret over unlived moments, unresolved conflicts, and the struggle to accept the reality of her mother’s death.

With a narrative that feels deeply relatable, ‘TRAASADI’ will take the audience on an introspective journey.

The word "mother" feels so complete, and so full of comfort, in itself. But in her absence, what, what plagues one the most, is the word "repentance".

This tale is a journey from the word mother to the word repentance. To be engulfed by repentance borne of a mother's absence, and in that living of repentance, to find one's mother back again.

TRAASADI digs deep into the grief, regret, and insight that the loss of a parent can bring. It deserves to be felt rather than just seen and is a must-watch for anyone who appreciates the power of theater to touch the soul.
