YOCS is a not-for-profit organization that promotes oratory and critical thinking through lively debates and discussions on topics ranging from politics, philosophy to science and technology. After hosting our sessions and meetings online for a long time since the pandemic, we would like to host a in-person session at Lamakaan. The session will consist of a minor, a 15 minute talk delivered by a member followed by an evaluation and a Q/A session and a major, a speaking session, where everyone present can speak on a given topic.

Himayath Sagar and Osman Sagar (Gundipet) have saved the city from floods when there is excess rains and at the same time give us drinking water when there are no rains.
These two heritage lakes have a security ring in the form of GO111. Chief Minister of Telangana has announced in floor of Assembly that he is going to scrap GO111.

Afsaana- a literary club in Hyderabad is planning to host its very first open mic event at Lamakaan.

The event will be an opportunity for anyone to showcase their talents like storytelling, slam poetry, stand up comedy, and so on.

Everybody will be given a time of 5 minutes to perform anything they want to!

Shudrka Hyderabad presents a Bengali play titled "EBAR DHORMORAJYO" (Comes Now Kingdom of Justice!). The play is based on Mahabharata. If there is one issue that occurs again and again in Mahābhārata, it is dharma. It is perhaps the most debated and yet perhaps the most compromised. The play begins on the eighteenth, and last, day of the Kurukshetra war.

The month of April 2022 is dedicated to the finest Finnish Screenwriter & Director, Aki Olavi Kaurismäki, born 4 April 1957.

Kaurismäki is known for his extremely minimalistic style. He has been called an auteur, since he writes, directs, produces, and usually edits the films himself, and thus introduces his personal "drollery and deadpan" style. The dialogue is famously laconic: the articulation is unadorned, direct, and in strict standard language, without showing much emotion or drama. Characters frequently stand still and recite the dialogue as if it consisted of eternal truths or nothing at all. These characters rarely smile, nod sadly, and smoke constantly. The camera is usually still. Events are shown in a plain manner and characters are usually left alone to face the consequences. KUKKA is a play displaying the atrocities committed by landlords in rural telangana prior to and some time after independence. Landlords and some affluent families often capitalized on the naive mentality and thinking of the underprivileged villagers. It also encapsulates the way in which the offsprings of these landlords also craved and learnt from their forefathers and dwelled on naive people in the same manner. Landlords often lent money to the ones in need and demanded huge interests in return.

NIVEDYAM
It is believed that God always keeps his word. He gives justice to the poor and food to the hungry. Do these statements have any truth in them? Let's find out by watching this hilarious play Nivedyam.

Set in a village in Andhra Pradesh, Mundadugu is a play written in the year 1945 by the duo Vasireddy Bhaskar Rao and Sunkara Satyanarayana. This play is about the farmers who were oppressed and exploited by a zamindar, and how the farmers form an association and revolt against the atrocities of the zamindar.

Land revenue was one of the major sources of income for Britishers in India. The Zamindari system was one of the land tenure systems introduced in 1793, and the system was most prevalent in West Bengal, Bihar, Odisha, UP, Andhra Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh.

Written by Badal Sircar, this play is the story of a man named Bhupati, who tries to make his dream of becoming a dental doctor come true by selling the priceless property of his ancestors (an old mansion). The real joy in this story comes at that juncture when it is learned that his ancestors also reside in the same house as a soul.
Now it remains to be seen whether Bhupathi will be able to sell this house along with the ghost i.e. his ancestor? If yes, then how much effort will he have to make to reach his dream. Where on one hand Bhupati's ancestors make you feel like ghosts in this play, on the other hand the rest of the characters make you laugh. Let us see together whether Bhupathi's tooth will be uprooted or not.

The strong anti-immigrant, anti-refugee and anti-muslim sentiments among the modern day Germany makes him convinced that he can make a political comeback.

Government announced for 6 years from 2016 to 2022 about a report to be submitted by 'Empowered Committee' after considering which GOMs111 restrictions would be removed. The report never came into public domain but new GO 69 was issued in 2022 removing Para 3 from GO Ms 111 of 1996.
Thus were the people of Hyderabad and Telangana cheated.
