More than 19 lakh people in Assam have been excluded from the final version. What about their citizenship status?
The short documentaries (two parts) made by The Quint focus on the grim issue of citizenship rights and questions the authenticity of the data collection and declaring some citizens as illegal and possible deportation to all such people.
The film will be followed by a discussion.

A word that means 'corner' or 'bank', KINAARA is a space occupied by people forgotten by society's grander narratives, existing on the margins of the dominant discourses. It is their stories we would like to showcase at this film festival, with the two main areas being gender and sexual identity, and territorial identity.

The Dialogue Project, an outcome of the Agaaz-e-Baatcheet alumni who have teamed up with other US State Dept. Alumni for an ambitious venture in Hyderabad, the cultural hub of South India that envisions to work with the mind-set of individuals by initiating a dialogue through community cohesion.
Team Dialogue envisions to execute this action project by engaging in dialogue with the audience and designated guests including people from different minority religious communities (by
population), genders, races, and castes. We also launch "The Dialogue Project" officially by inviting
applications and encouraging people to dive deeper into dialoguing.
Art always has been an integral part of people's struggles around the world and continues to be . Art in any form can convey the message to audience with ease. Art can also express dissent and voice out the concerns on social issues prevalent in our society. Poetry, a significant form of art plays prominent role in voicing dissent. Like Faiz said " a society without meaningful poetry is a society in the last legs of its wretched existence, a society bereft of dreams and thus a society bereft of hope."
In this times of political and economic uncertainty, the role of art and expression is more important than ever. India is going through a phase where space for dissent is shrinking. Cultural leaders – from filmmakers to cartoonists around the world are under threat, many were arrested, some were killed for expressing their ideas or showing any signs of dissent.
At this difficult times , it is important that our dissent in any form is expressed. To send a strong message to our rulers in authority that we have right
To defy
To disagree
To debate
To dissent
To Express
To enquire
And
To Exist
As dialogue towards an alternative has crossed one year, come let's be a part of this journey and sing songs of dissent.

Lo and behold! We found concurrence to weave our distinct sound through subtle yet bumpy rhythms and melodies
A little bit about us:
- Shree Anupam Kunapuli, is the noble captain of our grand yet humble musical voyage (not so humble are the crew members!). He is an experienced jazz pianist with roots in Carnatic music.
- Master Nehal Raj Pradhan, is as wayward as the northern winds gushing through the pine trees. A hint of it comes forth in his musical influences especially when he hides behind the drums.
- Sire Aritro S. Ghosh, is an angry young man whose guitar portrays the colour of his conflicts. His guitar playing ranges from subtle seaside melodies to explosively picked licks. His musical arrangements speaks much about him.
We don’t have much to offer but our music.

An old couple, Mohan Joshi and his wife decides to sue their landlord, Kundan Kapadia for not maintaining their ‘collapsing’ chawl. For this, they hire two lawyers. The landlord is least bothered as he wants to drive the tenants out and tear down the chawl. The court case drags on for years and the lawyers in cahoots with the opposition lawyer milk the old couple dry, while they become rich. In the end when the judge comes to check the condition of the chawl, Kapadia’s men prop up the place thus convincing the judge that all is well with the chawl. Finally, Joshi gathers all his strength and pulls down the temporary supports put up by the men causing the building to collapse on himself…
Mohan Joshi Hazir Ho! is one of the best satires ever made on the Indian screen and one of Saeed Akhtar Mirza’s best work. The film is a brilliant take off on the housing problems faced by lower middle-class chawl living tenants in Bombay, while at the same time making a dig at the archaic Indian judicial system where cases drag on and on and on and on…
The film beautifully highlights the ineffectuality of the ordinary man faced with an abuse of his very basic rights
All are invited for the screening of the movie "Mohan Joshi Hazir Ho"

The historic Golconda fort is one of Hyderabad's most well-known tourist spots, often drawing people from across the country to see it. However, the medieval-era monument has also been the most lacerated in terms of preservation, as constant encroachments have today damaged the fort in many ways.
Most people, especially from Hyderabad, are even not aware that the Golconda fort, which is 500 years old (2018 marked 500 years since the Qutb Shahi dynasty was founded by Sultan Quli Qutb Shahm who established his kingdom in the fort) has eight gates and an extension called the Naya Qila, which houses a Baobab tree that is about 400 years old.
In view of its importance to the city's heritage and to also understand the actual contours of the fort, come join us for a talk by Mr. Milan Kumar Chauley, Superintending Archaeologist, Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), at Lamakaan on 3 December, on the fort and its history. The talk will be followed by a session of Q&A.
About the speaker:
Mr. Milan Kumar Chauley first joined service as a Documentation Officer with Delhi government's archaeology department in 2002. He joined the ASI in 2003, working for its excavation branch in Bhubaneshwar and Delhi. In 2012, Mr. Chauley became a Superintending Archaeologist directly after writing the UPSC exam, following which he was appointed to the Telangana circle as the same in 2017.
