What is Procrastination:

Through this show, we aim is to provide a classy, yet entertaining musical evening to the audience with the ultimate goal being raising funds for the organization mentioned below.

This musical event features multiple artists performing a variety of genres of music. The show features Shakila, a prominent musician from Hyderabad, who will be headlining the show (along with her band) and supported by Sanjo The Balladeer (and his band), an experienced musician from Mumbai.

This is a fundraiser for the children of Srividhya’s Centre for the Special Children, a non-profit organization working for children with intellectual and related developmental disabilities. This organization does not have funding from the government or any corporate. They rely solely on donations from individuals, which as you can imagine is not enough to run an establishment. Through this show, we are trying to raise funds to help them sustain, and hopefully, develop. After retiring, he has dedicated himself towards training actors. He is a guiding force behind ‘Sutradhar’ and he is a founder member of ‘Rangadhara’ since 1971.

It is a tete-a-tete of two senior citizens / pensioners about life and its happiness. Among them one adopt boy and another a girl through their mind game. Later, the story revolve around that boy & girl who fall in love, get married & blessed with a son.During this period of time, difference of opinion arises which attributes to separation.

But a grandson who live away from his parents is the only source of pensioners' happiness for their rest of the life?. Is a couple illusionary effect of mind game / fiction or a grandson is facto?

Lamakaan hosts a Handloom Bazaar for Sale and exhibit the Fabric of Freedom. Woven in to the wonderful tapestry that is India, handloom weaving is a 4000 year old tradition. Handloom weaving is one of India’s predominant rural economic activities.This unique tradition has surpassed ages solely because of the magnificence of its craft, the mastery of its makers and patronizing consumers. Handlooms had a glorious past and o a penurious present. The handloom weavers used to live in a life of comfort and complacence in the past. They were respected for their invaluable craft that symbolized the essence of our rich culture and tradition. However, as time wheeled by machines began to exude dominance over human labour. In the state of Andhra Pradesh alone, there are about 320,000 handlooms on which about 500,000 families directly and 20,00,000 families indirectly depend for livelihoods. The recent years have witnessed migrations to cities in large numbers by handloom cotton weavers, taking up of alternative employment in rural industrial units and in extreme cases even starvation deaths or suicide deaths. The monthly handloom bazaar is one of the initiatives we are undertaking to bring back the wonder of handloom into mainstream popular culture, thus increasing the market for these products. In addition the exhibition cum sale hopes to educate the people at large on the issues of handloom weavers, and also on how to recognize the "real handloom" from fakes and "powerloom products". The bazaar will also include talks from time to time, display of weaving skills, and also will encourage children to learn these skills in an interactive way - like learning to use the "charkha".

Black Swan Journeys presents a unique book reading session while you get to time-travel around the Andaman islands with Pankaj Sekhsaria, the author of the novel "The Last Wave".
"Ever the aimless drifter, Harish finds the anchor his life needs in a chance encounter with members of the ancient and threatened - Jarawa community-the 'original people' of the Andaman Islands and its tropical rain forests. As he observes the slow but sure destruction of everything the Jarawa require for their survival, Harish is moved by a need to understand, to do something. His unlikely friend and partner on this quest is uncle Pame, a seventy-year-old Karen boatman whose father was brought to the islands from Burma by the British in the 1920s.

The islands also bring him to Seema, a 'local born'-a descendant of the convicts who were lodged in the infamous cellular jail of port Blair. Seema has seen the world, but unlike most educated islanders of her generation, she has decided to return home. Harishs earnestness, his fascination and growing love for the islands, their shared attempt to understand the Jarawa and the loss of her own first love, all draw Seema closer to Harish.

As many things seem to fall in place and parallel journeys converge, an unknown contender appears-the giant tsunami of December 2004. The last wave is a story of lost loves, but also of a culture, a community, an ecology poised on the sharp edge of time and history"

The present sessions at YOCS include a book/art review, a minor and a major.

One of the firmest pillars that YOCS stands on is its evaluation session. Judgments are made and accepted all the time. Group discussions, prose-reading sessions, poetry sessions, declamations, debates and JAM sessions also find their way into the agenda from time to time.

In these three-hour sessions, over three decades of its existence, YOCS members have traversed far and wide in their intellectual discussions. YOCS has provided a platform for discussion of varied topics and works of varied individuals. Some of our gatherings can claim to have hosted presentations or aroused discussion on Kautilya and Camus, on Ramesh Sippy and Ingmar Bergman, on Des Cartes and Phaedrus, not to mention more mundane matters like nuclear disarmament, neo-colonialism, and job reservations.

The members of YOCS have gathered to engage in public speaking activities and any matter is acceptable for their speeches, as long as it is within the rules of decorum. To an outsider, YOCS may seem like a gathering of blue stockings, which would be quite far from the truth.

Members have had varied reasons for aspiring to the YOCS membership. For some it may be the desire to interact with others at a certain level of intellectual accomplishment; some may hope to develop and polish their communication skills in advance of their appearance in competitive examinations and job interviews, and some may just wind up at YOCS to spend an evening a week with friends.

A protagonist, who is very much confused as how to end his life either by consuming poison or hanging himself because nothing falls for him in a right place. He is unemployed and has break-up with his girlfriend.
While the protagonist is in the process of committing suicide in his house, his best friend bumps into his house with whom he shares his emotional and romantic moments. The friend doesn’t even refrain him from attempting suicide as he is aware of protagonist’s nature and leaves him in lurch.

Thereafter he is visited by different people for their personal means and reasons, knowing his intentions and not stopping him from committing suicide. Then at the last moment of his life a stranger comes to him and his thought takes a twist and changes his life.

About The Play - The original script “NIROP” is written by Dr. Vasant Sabnis in Marathi which has been adapted in Hindi by Mrs. Amruta Gharipurikar.

This short film is an ode to the Indian peasant. It follows ‘a day in the life of’ structure without any identifiable characters or narration. It features music by the eminent musician Vishnudas Shirali. “Symphony of Life” was screened in the competition section at Cannes.

Starting as an actor in silent films in the 1920s, V. Shantaram went from one cinematic landmark to another - first as a partner in Prabhat Film Company in Pune and then as the founder of Rajkamal Kalamandir in Bombay. He also served as the chief-producer of Films Division in the early 1950s.

CHAR… THE NO-MAN’S ISLAND

Synopsis
Meet Rubel, fourteen-years-old boy smuggling rice from India to Bangladesh. Everyday he crosses the international border, river Ganga, which eroded his home in mainland India when he was just four. Years later a fragile island called Char formed within the large river. Rubel’s family and many homeless people settled in this barren field controlled by border army. He dreams of going his old school in India but reality forces him to smuggle stuff to Bangladesh. He fights on while monsoon clouds arrive inviting flood, the river swells up again. ‘Char may disappear but we won’t’, smiles the boy.

Sourav Sarangi observed this soggy microcosm over a number of years, using various different cameras to capture heterogeneous, at times almost apocalyptic images on film. His story of a boy growing up is left with an open ending, mixed with an oddly wonderful feeling of amazement… Berlin Film Festival

Sourav Sarangi
After graduating from the Presidency College, Kolkata, Sourav Sarangi joined the Film and Television Institute of India, Pune specializing in editing. His debut film ‘TUSUKATHA’ received accolades from many leading international film festivals. Since then he has been editing, writing, directing and producing in both fiction and nonfiction genres. He is also popular among student communities in various film schools as an articulate teacher.
Currently he is involved in international co-productions as an independent producer and director. His recent award winning work is an international co-production documentary titled ‘BILAL’. The film is based on observations about a three-year-old kid growing up with blind parents in Kolkata. BILAL travelled over fifty international festivals winning eighteen top awards.
He worked as the chief editor in an Indo-Italian co-production in Rome and Naples. Sourav has also extensively worked in private television channels in India as chief programming director. He supported and executed a number of productions on popular entertainment as well as social issue films which are still considered important works in regional television industry.
Sourav has also served as jury in international film festivals

Director’s note
An unusual sight struck me about ten years back. Pasrashpur, a small Indian village was vanishing before my eyes. Trees, buildings, roads… everything except humans slowly disappeared to a watery grave. River Ganga was eroding.
A small crack on ground widens slowly, and after a while the piece of earth where you stood minutes before jumps into the river with a splash. And sometimes it simply goes down in silence, as if in slow motion. The land is consumed, much like a prey hypnotized by a recoiling anaconda. And the villagers told me something similar. “The river Ganga has turned into a snake here!”
“Yes…” they said, “after the construction of the Farakka Dam (barrage) the mythical river mother has turned into a snake caught at her neck by modern technology. And for survival, the snake strikes back and forth with her tail to take away everything she gave us over ages.”
In a flash I could see a myth rationalized by the wise illiterates living in remote corners of my country. For me a journey began.
And I met Rubel, a village boy living on the verges of existence by smuggling rice from India to Bangladesh. He comes from the same village Parashpur that was eroded ten years back which I shot.
The river gave back what it took; the lost land resurfaced as an island called Char. But the society ruled by our divisionist polities made it inaccessible by drawing lines called border! Thus, Char, the new land of hope becomes a prohibited zone to enter. People are not just physically cut off from the mainland but dehumanized in all regards. They become human ghosts having no voices. This disturbed me.
By making films you look into lives of others. But I believe, camera is also a mirror to you. I tried to express my experience and emotions by being in Char. And the tryst between man and nature fascinated me to tell the story a magical river and millions who were …and will be there.
You can fix a border but not the river.

An informal evening of interaction with Vivek Nemana, a freelance journalist who was born in Hyderabad and brought up in the US. Vivek will speak on his experiences during this journalistic career - which includes reporting on the Phailin, his work with the tribal youth in Andhra Pradesh, his own motivations for writing.

Vivek has worked with many renowned newspapers and magazines. He is currently working on a book on changing tribal identity in modern,
Maoist India - an exercise that has taken him to interact with tribal youth in Andhra Pradesh. He was recently award the 2014 RedInk Award for Best Human Rights and Environmental Reporting for this in-depth coverage of the unprecedented rescue efforts during Operation Phailin.

Spend a weekend sharpening your photography skills and learn to take exceptional pictures from one of the acclaimed photographers - Neelu Singh.
The key to taking better pictures is an ability to recognise the elements of a good photograph. Heading out to take pictures without knowing how to use a camera to engage these elements often results in pictures that don’t match our artistic visions.
At the Elements of Photographic Composition workshop, we introduce you to elements of composition and deconstruct successful photographs to identify their effective use. We then understand how to use the camera to create pictures that match our ideas.
The workshop will be conducted over two days.
Neelu Singh has constantly been inspired by the streets of cities as diverse as Delhi, London, Mumbai, Detroit, Atlanta, Orlando, Kolkata, Jaipur, Vrindavan and Pune. She can often be found navigating the urban jungle in search of moments when the mundane transforms into the magical.
Her photo features have been published in magazines and newspapers like India Today's 'Good Housekeeping' and indie publication 'Good News Tab'. She also works with various NGOs documenting development programmes.

Yatamukt is a famous story of renowned Hindi writer Raji Seth. This is the story of an
old man who works at his master’s old traditional mansion from his childhood. Though
not a slave, his freedom is severely constrained by his servitude. The story takes an interesting turn with his son Kishna, who comes to live with him after the death of his
mother. Kishna is laborious and bright in study, but he is constantly harassed by the
Chote-malik (Master’s son). Kishna disapproves the undignified life of his father and
pursues him to forsake the disgressful life that is demeaning to human spirit. This story
subtly captures the post independence awakening of new generation, particularly the
lower class and their assertion to lead a meaningful, respectful and dignified life.
About the writer: - Raji Seth (1935- ) is an acclaimed Hindi Writer of fiction,
poetry and criticism. Her works have been translated into almost all Indian languages as
well as English. Some of her famous books are – Niskawach, Tat-sam, Yatramukt, Dusre
deshkal main, Rilke’s letters (translation into Hindi) etc. Ms. Seth lives and works in
Delhi.
2. Brahmaraksasa ka sishya: (Duration: 30 mnts)
‘Brahmaraksas ka shishya’ is a well-known story written by Noted Hindi writer
Muktibodh. The duty of an scholar/Guru is to impart and transmit knowledge to good
students. As per myth, if he fails to do so, he suffers as a Brahmaraksas after his death.
The salvation of a Brahmaraksasa is only possible when he dissipates or imparts his
knowledge, and skills to a deserving student. The story, by using metaphor of a
Brahmaraksasa, explores the mindsets of intellectuals/ scholars and their predicament in
our contemporary society.
About the Writer: - Gajanan Madhav Muktibodh (1917- 1964) one of the most
prominent poets, , essayist, literary and political critics, and fiction writers of the 20th
century. His famous books are- Chand ka Muh teda hai (The Moon Wears a Crooked Smile) Andhere Mein (In the Dark) and Bhuri Bhuri Khak Dhul (The Brown Dry Dusts)
and Muktibodh Rachnavali in Six volumes.

A Season of Love is a Film on birds by Kiranmayi.
Migratory birds from Central Asia and other places, visiting south Indian coastal villages, build a unique relationship with the local community. While migration in birds is motivated by needs of survival, people’s response to them has evolved over the years in the face of changing conditions of life and environment. The perceptions of migratory birds among local people fall into a fascinating cycle of human faith and caution within which the birds negotiate their instincts for survival and continuation of life. The film uses footage from 2002 and 2012 to compare the strands of people’s awareness and reflects on traditional, non-activist mode of conservation wherein migratory bird visits symbolize a graceful season of change and love.

'Special Indeed' is a play about an autistic individual and his recollection of the most significant experiences from his childhood/school-life that motivate him to outgrow the problem to a certain extent. Of course, he has obvious traces of autism even in his adult life, but he has now learnt to channelise whatever is in his power into something productive. The childhood experiences he now recollects are not exactly bright or positive, but they eventually turn out to be, because without them, he would have never developed the will to fight his condition. Brief flashes of those life-changing events in between his monologue as an adult will give the audience an understanding of how special the special children really are. The whole world is always wishing they were normal, but the protagonist of our play always wonders: 'What is normal? Is my normal not different from yours?'

ABOUT THE PLAY - Is Kambakht Sathe Ka Kya Kare? the play is an adaptation of a Marathi play ‘Sathecha Kay Karaycha’ penned by a noted playwright Rajiv Naik translated into Hindi by Jyoti Subhash.
The story focuses on the tender relationship between a husband and a wife. It narrates the married life of the couple, Abhay an ad filmmaker and Salma a lecturer in college. Both lead a happy married life. Both face different tribulations in their professional lives, but Abhay takes it too seriously and thinks that his colleague Sathe does not deserve the recognition that he gets. On the other hand, Salma loves her work and does not care about the quick promotion and success. She believes that everything should be done with a pure heart. At a peak point, Salma deals with the situation and handles Abhay’s frustration. At the end of the play, both build up a strong trust in the relationship and create a companionship which stands over understanding. The twists and turns and the tribulations the couple faces in balancing their married and professional lives form rest of the story. This play tries to depict that positive attitude can make things better.

Through this show, we aim is to provide a classy, yet entertaining musical evening to the audience with the ultimate goal being raising funds for the organization mentioned below.

This is a fundraiser for the children of Srividhya’s Centre for the Special Children, a non-profit organization working for children with intellectual and related developmental disabilities. Lamakaan hosts a Handloom Bazaar for Sale and exhibit the Fabric of Freedom. Woven in to the wonderful tapestry that is India, handloom weaving is a 4000 year old tradition. Handloom weaving is one of India’s predominant rural economic activities.This unique tradition has surpassed ages solely because of the magnificence of its craft, the mastery of its makers and patronizing consumers. Handlooms had a glorious past and o a penurious present. The handloom weavers used to live in a life of comfort and complacence in the past. They were respected for their invaluable craft that symbolized the essence of our rich culture and tradition. However, as time wheeled by machines began to exude dominance over human labour. In the state of Andhra Pradesh alone, there are about 320,000 handlooms on which about 500,000 families directly and 20,00,000 families indirectly depend for livelihoods. The recent years have witnessed migrations to cities in large numbers by handloom cotton weavers, taking up of alternative employment in rural industrial units and in extreme cases even starvation deaths or suicide deaths. The monthly handloom bazaar is one of the initiatives we are undertaking to bring back the wonder of handloom into mainstream popular culture, thus increasing the market for these products. In addition the exhibition cum sale hopes to educate the people at large on the issues of handloom weavers, and also on how to recognize the "real handloom" from fakes and "powerloom products". The bazaar will also include talks from time to time, display of weaving skills, and also will encourage children to learn these skills in an interactive way - like learning to use the "charkha".

Black Swan Journeys presents a unique book reading session while you get to time-travel around the Andaman islands with Pankaj Sekhsaria, the author of the novel "The Last Wave".
"Ever the aimless drifter, Harish finds the anchor his life needs in a chance encounter with members of the ancient and threatened - Jarawa community-the 'original people' of the Andaman Islands and its tropical rain forests. As he observes the slow but sure destruction of everything the Jarawa require for their survival, Harish is moved by a need to understand, to do something. His unlikely friend and partner on this quest is uncle Pame, a seventy-year-old Karen boatman whose father was brought to the islands from Burma by the British in the 1920s.

The islands also bring him to Seema, a 'local born'-a descendant of the convicts who were lodged in the infamous cellular jail of port Blair. Seema has seen the world, but unlike most educated islanders of her generation, she has decided to return home. Harishs earnestness, his fascination and growing love for the islands, their shared attempt to understand the Jarawa and the loss of her own first love, all draw Seema closer to Harish.

The present sessions at YOCS include a book/art review, a minor and a major.

One of the firmest pillars that YOCS stands on is its evaluation session. Judgments are made and accepted all the time. Group discussions, prose-reading sessions, poetry sessions, declamations, debates and JAM sessions also find their way into the agenda from time to time.

In these three-hour sessions, over three decades of its existence, YOCS members have traversed far and wide in their intellectual discussions. YOCS has provided a platform for discussion of varied topics and works of varied individuals. Some of our gatherings can claim to have hosted presentations or aroused discussion on Kautilya and Camus, on Ramesh Sippy and Ingmar Bergman, on Des Cartes and Phaedrus, not to mention more mundane matters like nuclear disarmament, neo-colonialism, and job reservations.

The members of YOCS have gathered to engage in public speaking activities and any matter is acceptable for their speeches, as long as it is within the rules of decorum. To an outsider, YOCS may seem like a gathering of blue stockings, which would be quite far from the truth.

Members have had varied reasons for aspiring to the YOCS membership. For some it may be the desire to interact with others at a certain level of intellectual accomplishment; some may hope to develop and polish their communication skills in advance of their appearance in competitive examinations and job interviews, and some may just wind up at YOCS to spend an evening a week with friends.

A protagonist, who is very much confused as how to end his life either by consuming poison or hanging himself because nothing falls for him in a right place. He is unemployed and has break-up with his girlfriend.
While the protagonist is in the process of committing suicide in his house, his best friend bumps into his house with whom he shares his emotional and romantic moments. The friend doesn’t even refrain him from attempting suicide as he is aware of protagonist’s nature and leaves him in lurch.

Thereafter he is visited by different people for their personal means and reasons, knowing his intentions and not stopping him from committing suicide. Then at the last moment of his life a stranger comes to him and his thought takes a twist and changes his life.

About The Play - The original script “NIROP” is written by Dr. Vasant Sabnis in Marathi which has been adapted in Hindi by Mrs. Amruta Gharipurikar.

This short film is an ode to the Indian peasant. It follows ‘a day in the life of’ structure without any identifiable characters or narration. It features music by the eminent musician Vishnudas Shirali. “Symphony of Life” was screened in the competition section at Cannes.

Starting as an actor in silent films in the 1920s, V. Shantaram went from one cinematic landmark to another - first as a partner in Prabhat Film Company in Pune and then as the founder of Rajkamal Kalamandir in Bombay. He also served as the chief-producer of Films Division in the early 1950s.

CHAR… THE NO-MAN’S ISLAND

Synopsis
Meet Rubel, fourteen-years-old boy smuggling rice from India to Bangladesh. Everyday he crosses the international border, river Ganga, which eroded his home in mainland India when he was just four. Years later a fragile island called Char formed within the large river. Rubel’s family and many homeless people settled in this barren field controlled by border army. He dreams of going his old school in India but reality forces him to smuggle stuff to Bangladesh. He fights on while monsoon clouds arrive inviting flood, the river swells up again. ‘Char may disappear but we won’t’, smiles the boy.

Sourav Sarangi observed this soggy microcosm over a number of years, using various different cameras to capture heterogeneous, at times almost apocalyptic images on film. His story of a boy growing up is left with an open ending, mixed with an oddly wonderful feeling of amazement… Berlin Film Festival

After graduating from the Presidency College, Kolkata, Sourav Sarangi joined the Film and Television Institute of India, Pune specializing in editing. His debut film ‘TUSUKATHA’ received accolades from many leading international film festivals. Since then he has been editing, writing, directing and producing in both fiction and nonfiction genres. He is also popular among student communities in various film schools as an articulate teacher.
Currently he is involved in international co-productions as an independent producer and director. His recent award winning work is an international co-production documentary titled ‘BILAL’. The film is based on observations about a three-year-old kid growing up with blind parents in Kolkata. BILAL travelled over fifty international festivals winning eighteen top awards.
He worked as the chief editor in an Indo-Italian co-production in Rome and Naples. Sourav has also extensively worked in private television channels in India as chief programming director. He supported and executed a number of productions on popular entertainment as well as social issue films which are still considered important works in regional television industry.

Director’s note
An unusual sight struck me about ten years back. Pasrashpur, a small Indian village was vanishing before my eyes. Trees, buildings, roads… everything except humans slowly disappeared to a watery grave. River Ganga was eroding.
A small crack on ground widens slowly, and after a while the piece of earth where you stood minutes before jumps into the river with a splash. And sometimes it simply goes down in silence, as if in slow motion. The land is consumed, much like a prey hypnotized by a recoiling anaconda. And the villagers told me something similar. “The river Ganga has turned into a snake here!”
“Yes…” they said, “after the construction of the Farakka Dam (barrage) the mythical river mother has turned into a snake caught at her neck by modern technology. And for survival, the snake strikes back and forth with her tail to take away everything she gave us over ages.”
In a flash I could see a myth rationalized by the wise illiterates living in remote corners of my country. For me a journey began.
And I met Rubel, a village boy living on the verges of existence by smuggling rice from India to Bangladesh. He comes from the same village Parashpur that was eroded ten years back which I shot.
The river gave back what it took; the lost land resurfaced as an island called Char. But the society ruled by our divisionist polities made it inaccessible by drawing lines called border! Thus, Char, the new land of hope becomes a prohibited zone to enter. People are not just physically cut off from the mainland but dehumanized in all regards. They become human ghosts having no voices. This disturbed me.
By making films you look into lives of others. But I believe, camera is also a mirror to you. I tried to express my experience and emotions by being in Char. And the tryst between man and nature fascinated me to tell the story a magical river and millions who were …and will be there.
You can fix a border but not the river.

Maoist India - an exercise that has taken him to interact with tribal youth in Andhra Pradesh. He was recently award the 2014 RedInk Award for Best Human Rights and Environmental Reporting for this in-depth coverage of the unprecedented rescue efforts during Operation Phailin.

Spend a weekend sharpening your photography skills and learn to take exceptional pictures from one of the acclaimed photographers - Neelu Singh.
The key to taking better pictures is an ability to recognise the elements of a good photograph. Heading out to take pictures without knowing how to use a camera to engage these elements often results in pictures that don’t match our artistic visions.
At the Elements of Photographic Composition workshop, we introduce you to elements of composition and deconstruct successful photographs to identify their effective use. We then understand how to use the camera to create pictures that match our ideas.
The workshop will be conducted over two days.
Neelu Singh has constantly been inspired by the streets of cities as diverse as Delhi, London, Mumbai, Detroit, Atlanta, Orlando, Kolkata, Jaipur, Vrindavan and Pune. She can often be found navigating the urban jungle in search of moments when the mundane transforms into the magical.

1. Yatramukt: (Duration: 30 mnts.)
Yatamukt is a famous story of renowned Hindi writer Raji Seth. This is the story of an
old man who works at his master’s old traditional mansion from his childhood. Though
not a slave, his freedom is severely constrained by his servitude. The story takes an interesting turn with his son Kishna, who comes to live with him after the death of his
mother. Kishna is laborious and bright in study, but he is constantly harassed by the
Chote-malik (Master’s son). Kishna disapproves the undignified life of his father and
pursues him to forsake the disgressful life that is demeaning to human spirit. This story
subtly captures the post independence awakening of new generation, particularly the
lower class and their assertion to lead a meaningful, respectful and dignified life.
About the writer: - Raji Seth (1935- ) is an acclaimed Hindi Writer of fiction,
poetry and criticism. Her works have been translated into almost all Indian languages as
well as English. Some of her famous books are – Niskawach, Tat-sam, Yatramukt, Dusre
deshkal main, Rilke’s letters (translation into Hindi) etc. Ms. Seth lives and works in
Delhi.
2. Brahmaraksasa ka sishya: (Duration: 30 mnts)
‘Brahmaraksas ka shishya’ is a well-known story written by Noted Hindi writer
Muktibodh. The duty of an scholar/Guru is to impart and transmit knowledge to good
students. As per myth, if he fails to do so, he suffers as a Brahmaraksas after his death.
The salvation of a Brahmaraksasa is only possible when he dissipates or imparts his
knowledge, and skills to a deserving student. The story, by using metaphor of a
Brahmaraksasa, explores the mindsets of intellectuals/ scholars and their predicament in
our contemporary society.
About the Writer: - Gajanan Madhav Muktibodh (1917- 1964) one of the most
prominent poets, , essayist, literary and political critics, and fiction writers of the 20th
century. His famous books are- Chand ka Muh teda hai (The Moon Wears a Crooked Smile) Andhere Mein (In the Dark) and Bhuri Bhuri Khak Dhul (The Brown Dry Dusts)
and Muktibodh Rachnavali in Six volumes.

A Season of Love is a Film on birds by Kiranmayi.
Migratory birds from Central Asia and other places, visiting south Indian coastal villages, build a unique relationship with the local community. While migration in birds is motivated by needs of survival, people’s response to them has evolved over the years in the face of changing conditions of life and environment. The perceptions of migratory birds among local people fall into a fascinating cycle of human faith and caution within which the birds negotiate their instincts for survival and continuation of life. The film uses footage from 2002 and 2012 to compare the strands of people’s awareness and reflects on traditional, non-activist mode of conservation wherein migratory bird visits symbolize a graceful season of change and love.

'Special Indeed' is a play about an autistic individual and his recollection of the most significant experiences from his childhood/school-life that motivate him to outgrow the problem to a certain extent. Of course, he has obvious traces of autism even in his adult life, but he has now learnt to channelise whatever is in his power into something productive. The childhood experiences he now recollects are not exactly bright or positive, but they eventually turn out to be, because without them, he would have never developed the will to fight his condition. Brief flashes of those life-changing events in between his monologue as an adult will give the audience an understanding of how special the special children really are. The whole world is always wishing they were normal, but the protagonist of our play always wonders: 'What is normal? Is my normal not different from yours?'

ABOUT THE PLAY - Is Kambakht Sathe Ka Kya Kare? the play is an adaptation of a Marathi play ‘Sathecha Kay Karaycha’ penned by a noted playwright Rajiv Naik translated into Hindi by Jyoti Subhash.
The story focuses on the tender relationship between a husband and a wife. It narrates the married life of the couple, Abhay an ad filmmaker and Salma a lecturer in college. Both lead a happy married life. Both face different tribulations in their professional lives, but Abhay takes it too seriously and thinks that his colleague Sathe does not deserve the recognition that he gets. On the other hand, Salma loves her work and does not care about the quick promotion and success. She believes that everything should be done with a pure heart. At a peak point, Salma deals with the situation and handles Abhay’s frustration. At the end of the play, both build up a strong trust in the relationship and create a companionship which stands over understanding. The twists and turns and the tribulations the couple faces in balancing their married and professional lives form rest of the story. This play tries to depict that positive attitude can make things better.
