Talking circles are processes of authentic, effective and respectful communication where the principles of equal voice, community responsibility, rotatory leadership and emotional integration are address. Each member of the circle irrespective of role, status, age experience is considered to be an integral part having a share of the whole truth without whose contribution the truth is incomplete, hence is given equal say and space in the circle process.
The circle process allows for each member to speak without interruption and gives opportunity for reflection and prevents haphazard airing of feelings as participants wait for their turn to receive the talking stick to communicate. The participant is also allowed to share silence with the group and respectfully pass the stick to the next member.
Circle is designed to encourage
mutual concern and respect

Shared responsibility
Equal opportunity
personal v/s community values
wholistic view
The circle can be used wherever there is a need to
Develop co operation and collaboration skills
Achieve mutual understanding
Make decisions together building consensus
Repair, heal and build relationships.
Plan future activities
Develop agreements that bring resolution and closure.
