The Lost Dimension
Wed May 25, 8:00 PM
Prabhash Chandra
An evening of Play 'The Lost Dimension' in which Anup (protagonist) believes that all structure that exist mathematically exist also physically. Everything around us can be represented and understood through numbers jaise ek painting ek canvas jisme ye sare dots ek doosre se connect ho jate hain, there are patterns everywhere in nature.
A performance that depicts the ostracism, bureaucratic negligence, reprimand and insult of a research scholar and his research. And it takes him nowhere and puts him in a position of alienation. That's where the psychological violence enters within the relationship of Anup and Nupur, becomes the tragedy of the neoliberal era.
Dialogue through the character explores the multiple complexities through narrative or non narrative metaphoric ways. Images evolve the silence of the script with the audience. There is also non linear poetic aspect of the play which creates the space of imagination of timeless imagery; it’s like a collage, mural, sculptor of dreams. It’s unheard, unsaid testimony of our living era.
About the Director:Prabhash is a nuclear physicist and creative director of Alpana Theatre.
Some of his prominent works are “Dawat –E- kichdi” ,”Soi subah ki khoi dastaan”, ”Humey naaz hai”, “Gul – Gulee Circus”, “Khwabon ke bulbule”,”Bheege Bheege Se Pal”, "Mushroom Cloud" , "The 7 Inch State" ,"Cosmic Chaat urf Jagat Jigsaw". His on-stage film adaptations includes "Dr. Strangelove" nd "The Clockwork Orange"
