SOHAM THEATRE HYDERABAD
SOHAM THEATRE PRESENTS A MARATHI ONE ACT PLAY - MAY I HELP YOU?

Synopsis: "May I Help You"
The Marathi play "May I Help You," written by Rohan Pednekar, is a character-driven drama set in the quiet isolation of a bus station late at night.

The Plot:
The story follows two strangers who miss the final bus of the night after the woman’s bag becomes stuck in a bench. Stranded together until dawn, they are forced into an unfolding conversation. Initially, she is cold and annoyed by his talkative, lighthearted nature. However, after he rescues her from a drunkard wandering the station, her guard begins to drop.

Over a cup of coffee, their dialogue shifts from superficial bickering to deep philosophical reflections. She reveals a profound emotional wound from a past relationship that has left her cynical about love and terrified of vulnerability. In return, he admits that his cheerful exterior is merely a "facepack"—a mask of humor worn to hide his own sorrows and bring joy to others.

The play concludes with a "change-over," showing them as a couple. Their final interaction—a playful argument over a lost file—suggests that she has moved past her trauma to embrace a life of shared humor and care with him.

The "Million-Dollar" Questions:

Is the "facepack" truly meant to hide pain, or is it something more calculated?

Is this a story of profound healing and companionship, or a sophisticated trap?

Who is the hunter, and who is the prey?

Is the "help" sought truly served?

To uncover the suspense, come and experience "May I Help You."
