Loopholes in Aadhar Project
Sat Jul 7, 7:00 PM
Programme Council Lamakaan
Aadhaar has been a controversy since the project was announced and rolled out in 2009. With the recent push to make it mandatory for everything, several security loopholes and frauds have been un-earthed. With the recent cellphone SIMs verification scandal using fingerprints found on revenue department website shows the security threat Aadhaar poses to citizens. The supreme court has heard all these challenges from the petitioners and has reserved judgement, which is likely to be out anytime soon. The much awaited draft data protection bill has been delayed for months. With so many data leaks and frauds occurring, citizens have been left with no recourse except but parting with their information. This session will bring people together to make them discuss ways to challenge Aadhaar beyond the court rooms.
