Safarnama presents “Shaan-e-Azaadi”, a canvas of 3 events – A stageplay, A streetplay and a monologue – put together to not only just celebrate but to raise various questions on current issues of India and how we are responsible for making our nation better. So, let’s come together and be a witness to our 72nd Independence Day.
Event 1: Streetplay “Ae Watan”– (45 mins)
We often complain about the freedom we have been given after Independence and how faulty is our system these days. But what we forget is freedom didn’t happen suddenly. It’s a clay which can be moulded as per our will and it is upto us what we can create from it. Our country has issues, its on us to resolve them. It’s not about how much freedom we receive, but do we really respect the freedom we have?

Event 2: Monologue – “Mera Dharam Mahan?” (25 min)
Religions are on display. Which one do you choose? Which one do you leave? The society has marked all of us under different religions and we have worsened the structure by engaging ourselves into fights and extremism. Come experience a hard hitting and a realistic monologue enacted by Devender Bhardwaj. You are bound to be left thinking whether is it the time to change?

Event 3: Play – “Bhartendu Ka Bazaar” (20 min)
It is a musical excerpt from the play 'Andher Nagri Chaupat Raja' by Bhartendu Harishchandra. The excerpt symbolizes the importance of unity among Indian businesses and foundations which are being shaken by foreign traders. In times of unity and strength, we need to come, stand together and demonstrate that our roots and foundations are here to stay. Come join the colorful market place and take back a lot to think.
