New projects in the name of development are not new but what is surprising is the act of acquiring the land and consequences of building such projects. Mallanna Sagar project in Medak district of Telangana is one such example where scores of people in the district are against to manner in which the land is acquired by the state government. Villagers are protesting in their own way by not participating in the Independence Day celebrations. While the Forum for Utilization of Godavari Waters has expressed concern about the validity of the project. They said it is technically and economically flawed project and can cause huge loss to the state exchequer.
